Casino welcome bonus guide: deposit packages compared term by term
The welcome packages worth comparing all need a deposit and all come from casinos licensed offshore. Each one opens at £20 or €20, asks for 35x to 40x wagering and prints its terms in full for you to read. Look at how a package is built before you look at its size: in a 50,000-session simulation on our “Classic” model slot, a 200% first-deposit match played deposit-first finished above the £20 deposit 35.9% of the time, against 13.8% with deposit and bonus tied into one balance.

€1,000 in matches and 150 spins, split over your first three deposits (300% combined) Deposit needed 35x wagering where the others ask 40x, a €5 bet limit and spin winnings you keep without wagering. The friendliest terms on this board by offshore standards: 35x instead of 40x, two weeks to finish, a published €5 bet limit and spin winnings with no wagering on them. The sums still lean against you: €20 in gives €30 of bonus, and clearing it takes €1,050 of slot stakes, about €42 of expected cost on a 96% slot. Licensed in Anjouan, so GamStop, the 10x cap and UK complaint routes do not apply. The offer, stage by stage

Five deposits unlock as much as €5,000, 500 spins and a €650 free bet Deposit needed The biggest headline here, €5,000 and 500 spins, but it takes five deposits and 40x on everything. Reaching the €5,000 headline means paying in €1,000 on five separate occasions. Start with €20 instead and the opening match adds €20 that you must play through 40 times: €800 of stakes, which costs about €32 on a 96% slot, more than the bonus itself. Each batch of spins can return €100 at most and expires a day after it lands. The casino opened in 2025 on a Curaçao licence, does not name its operator and does not publish a maximum bet, so put that question to support before paying in. The offer, stage by stage

As much as £5,000 in matches and 500 spins, unlocked across five deposits Deposit needed Five stages up to £5,000 and 500 spins from a 2026 Costa Rica operator, with a 5x cap on what each stage can pay. PrimeTier Limited, a Costa Rica company, opened this casino in 2026, so there is little history to judge it by. Its welcome package is built like the other five-stage deal on this board: 40x play-through, and £800 of stakes to clear the first £20 bonus at the minimum top-up. Whatever a stage wins is limited to five times its bonus. There is no Gambling Commission licence and no GamStop link, and the lootboxes and tournament follow separate rules from the welcome offer. A 200% first match worth up to £1,000 plus 50 cash spins, followed by two 150% matches with 50 spins each Deposit needed The biggest first-deposit match on the board, 200%, with the fewest terms published. Generous at the first step and sparing with its paperwork. A £20 top-up at 200% becomes a £40 bonus, and 40x turns that into £1,600 of stakes, roughly £64 of expected cost, which makes this headline the costliest on the board to clear. The site does not say how much you can win, how long you have or how much you may bet, and its Curaçao licence number did not match any regulator listing we could find. Checked Oct 2026 18+ · New customers · T&Cs apply. Worth on paper: the bonus at the minimum deposit less the expected cost of clearing its wagering on a 96% slot.
A welcome bonus is the first deal a casino puts in front of you, and on the offshore side every one of them is a deposit package. You pay in, the casino tops you up with bonus money and free spins, and a wagering line stands between that top-up and cash you can take out. From a distance the packages all look alike. Up close they part ways in three places: how the match is spread over your deposits, which deposits bring spins with them, and which balance the multiple applies to.
This hub reads those three places for you, puts a price on them with one formula and a fresh batch of simulations, then sends you to the guide for each bonus type. Give it ten minutes before you register anywhere. That is long enough to know what your first £20 buys and what clearing it will cost.
One fact frames all of it. Since 19 January 2026, any casino with a Gambling Commission licence has had to keep wagering at or below 10 times the bonus. The casinos we compare are licensed in Curaçao, Anjouan or Costa Rica instead, so 35x to 40x is allowed for them, and none of Gamstop Online, the 10x ceiling or a UK complaints service applies.
Choose a welcome bonus in five quick decisions
- Start with the shape, not the percentage. A package totalling 300% over three £20 deposits pays £60 for £60, an average of 100% a deposit. A 200% first-deposit match pays £40 on your first £20. Count the deposits you would really make, then compare.
- Read the wagering line twice. 35x on a £40 bonus means £1,400 of stakes; the same 35x on deposit and bonus together means £2,100. That one clause shifts the value more than any headline.
- Prefer real money first. When your deposit is spent before the bonus, a lucky start can be taken home. In the simulations below, that order of play raised the share finishing above the deposit from 13.8% to 35.9% at 35x.
- Collect only the stages you would fund anyway. Each stage wants its own £20 or €20. An unfunded stage is worth nothing to you, and chasing one is how a £20 plan grows into £100.
- Know the catch before you pay. Every casino of that sort is licensed offshore, so you go without Gamstop, the 10x ceiling and a British complaints body, and the terms want documents before your first withdrawal.
Short on time today? Make the wagering base your one check. Everything else on this page builds on it.
The ten-minute terms check
Open a set of terms, set a ten-minute timer and work down this list. Each row tells you where the term usually sits and what it does to a first deposit of £20.
| What to check | Where it sits | Effect on a £20 start |
|---|---|---|
| The multiple, and the balance it applies to | The terms line beside the match | 35x on a £40 bonus is £1,400 of stakes; on deposit and bonus together it grows to £2,100 |
| Order of play | The bonus terms, where they say which balance goes first | Deposit-first runs beat £20 in 35.9% of simulated sessions at 35x; tied together, 13.8% |
| How the match is split | The package breakdown in the terms | A 300% total over three £20 deposits is £60 for £60 paid in; a 200% first match is £40 on your first £20 |
| Minimum deposit at every stage | The offer and the package terms | £20 or €20 each time, so a five-stage package costs £100 before its last bonus arrives |
| The spins: count, value, deposits, payout | The free-spin terms | 100 spins at 10p averaged £9.61 paid as cash and £5.66 with 35x on what they won |
| Bet limit while a bonus is running | The bonus terms | Go over it and the bonus can be voided; at 20p the £1,400 is 7,000 spins, just short of five hours |
| How each game counts, and which are barred | The bonus terms | A game counted at 10% turns £1,400 of wagering into £14,000 |
| Licence and paperwork | The licence line in the offer | An offshore licence: Gamstop, the 10x ceiling and UK complaints bodies do not apply; documents before the first payout |
Two of those rows decide most of what an offer is worth: the wagering base and the order of play. If the terms are silent on which balance goes first, treat deposit and bonus as tied together and value it that way. If the base is unclear, assume it covers deposit and bonus. Pricing an offer at its worst reading costs you nothing, and a pleasant surprise beats a nasty one.
The packages out here, shape by shape
In October 2026 the offers worth comparing all came from casinos licensed offshore, and each is a welcome package that needs a deposit. You start at £20 or €20, the wagering lands somewhere from 35x to 40x, and a package releases its 150 to 500 free spins across a number of deposits. None of them is a no-deposit offer. Where they differ is the shape, so take them shape by shape.
| Package shape | On your first £20 | If every stage is £20 | Wagering | Read first |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Totals 300% over three deposits | A share of the 300%, split as the terms state | £60 of bonus for £60 paid in, the same money as 100% on each | 35x to 40x | How much lands on deposit one, and which stages carry spins |
| Opens with a 200% first-deposit match | £40 of bonus | £40 from the first stage alone, then later stages as listed | 35x to 40x | The base: £1,400 to £1,600 on the bonus, more on both |
| Five deposits at 50% to 100% each (two packages) | £10 to £20 of bonus | £50 to £100 of bonus for £100 paid in | 35x to 40x | Deadlines between stages and the spin batch on each |
Read the 300% as a sum. Three equal deposits matched at an average of 100% bring in the same £60 as three separate 100% matches would. The headline adds percentages together; your balance adds pounds. No single deposit anywhere out here gets a 300% match, and the way the total is divided decides how much turns up with your first £20.
The 200% starter loads its bonus at the front. If you plan one deposit and no more, it gives you the most bonus for that first £20. You pay for that with a long wagering line, which the guide to 200% deposit matches sets beside a 100% match on a bigger deposit.
The two five-deposit packages fit someone who already pays in every week. Taken a stage at a time, half of £20 is £10 of bonus and a full match is £20, so five stages bring £50 to £100. The trap is the calendar. A later stage can expire before you would naturally have deposited, and a stage you hurry to fund costs you £20 that was never in the plan.
Spins, cash spins and the free bet
A package adds between 150 and 500 free spins, handed out over several deposits rather than all at once. At 10p a spin, 150 spins are £15 of play and average £14.40 back on a 96% slot; 500 spins are £50 of play and average £48.00. Check the spin value in the terms before you rely on those figures, because a different value scales them up or down.
Some cards say their spin winnings are paid as cash. That line is worth more than an extra hundred spins with wagering attached. Put 35x on the winnings and the formula takes the £14.40 from 150 spins below zero; paid as cash, it stays £14.40.
£14.40 × (1 − 35 × 4%) = £14.40 × (−0.4) = −£5.76
A package may also add a free bet. That is a sportsbook product with terms of its own. Price it separately, and do not let it drag you into betting you had not planned.
What every set of terms has in common
An offer lists its licence, its payment methods and its terms in full. The terms want your documents before the first withdrawal, so upload them the day you open the account instead of the day you want your money. Somewhere a 2026 launch date appears, which means a short public record. Give that one an extra minute of reading.
Which bonus type suits which player
Pick the bonus to fit the way you already play, not the other way round. The table pairs each kind of player with the offer type that fits and the single figure that should settle the choice.
| If you | Look at | The figure that settles it |
|---|---|---|
| put £20 into a UK-licensed casino now and then for slots | A 100% match at the 10x cap | Worth £12.00 on paper; 33.3% of simulated sessions ended above £20, against 14.2% with no bonus |
| have £10 to spend | A 200% match on £10 at the 10x cap | £20 of bonus, worth £12.00 on paper; 27.1% of runs ended above the £10 |
| want a package from an offshore casino | A stage whose terms spend the deposit first | 35.9% beat £20 deposit-first at 35x, 13.8% tied together |
| will stop after one deposit | The 200% starter, not a five-stage plan | £40 of bonus on the first £20, against £10 to £20 from a five-stage first step |
| pay in every week anyway | A multi-deposit package, one stage at a time | £50 to £100 of bonus over five £20 stages, but £1,750 to £4,000 of wagering |
| want winnings you can cash out with nothing to clear | Spins paid as cash, or a brand with no wagering | 100 cash spins at 10p averaged £9.61; a quarter of sessions reached £10 |
| like low-volatility slots | Long wagering lines, where the terms let you choose the game | 31.2% finished 35x on a steady model slot, 5.3% on a spiky one |
| prefer bingo rooms to reels | A bingo sign-up deal | How much of the stake money comes back as prizes, which sets what a bingo bonus is worth |
| would rather not deposit | A no-deposit offer from a UK-licensed site | Typically 5 to 20 spins, or a £5 to £10 bonus; an offshore welcome needs a deposit first |
Three rows deserve a word. The £10 row is where British welcomes often sit: licensed matches tend to be 100% of a modest first deposit, now and then 200%, so a £10 player gets more bonus per pound at 200% without paying in more. The 100% deposit bonus guide covers the commoner version, including how to spot a deposit-first clause in the terms.
The cash-spins row is the easiest offer to value, since nothing stands between a win and your balance. PlayOJO and MrQ are the licensed names best known for bonuses with no wagering at all, so a win from their spins is cash straight away. Spin deals of that kind are taken apart in the guides to £5 for 100 spins and £10 for 200 spins, both free of wagering.
The bingo and no-deposit rows sit outside this comparison. For tickets and room welcomes, use the bingo sign-up guide; for offers that ask for nothing up front, start at the no deposit bonus hub. If none of the rows fits, take the smallest bonus with the lowest multiple. It is the hardest choice to regret.
How a £20 start usually ends under each bonus type
A formula prices an offer as if you finish it. Most sessions never do. To see what normally happens, each bonus rule went through tens of thousands of simulated sessions on our “Classic” model slot: medium volatility, 96.0% RTP, a win of some size on 25.8% of spins. Every session begins with a £20 deposit and spins at 20p.
The baseline and the UK match
With no bonus at all, playing for up to 1,000 spins (£200 of stakes, the same as a 10x play-through on £20), 14.2% of 100,000 sessions finished above £20. Only 18.4% could still pay for a spin at the end, and the mean closing balance was £15.76, a loss of £4.24.
A 100% match at the UK’s 10x cap more than doubled the odds of coming out ahead. Across 100,000 sessions, 44.2% staked the full £200 and 33.3% beat the deposit. The mean closing balance was £33.24: £13.24 more than the £20 paid in, close to the £12.00 the formula gives. Even so the median was £0, because 55.8% of sessions ran dry before the line was cleared.
The offshore 200% start, tied together
Next comes the shape closest to an offshore 200% starter: a £40 bonus on a £20 deposit sharing one balance, with 35x applied to the bonus. That is £1,400 to stake. Of 50,000 sessions, 14.3% got to the end and 85.7% ran out first with nothing left, which put the median at £0. Just 13.8% finished above £20, almost exactly the no-bonus figure. At 40x, with £1,600 to stake, 12.9% got through and 12.5% beat the deposit.
Change one clause: the deposit goes first
Same offer, same slot, same stake, one difference. With real money first, you spin the £20 by itself and cash out the moment it reaches £30. Only if the deposit is used up does the £40 bonus come into play, still carrying the full 35x. Across 50,000 sessions, 29.8% left with £30 or more. Of the 70.2% who lost the deposit, 9.0% went on to complete the wagering on the bonus, so 35.9% of all sessions finished above £20. At 40x the walk-aways were 29.8% again, 8.1% of the rest got through, and 35.4% came out ahead.
Why the averages say something different
Tied together, the mean session at 35x closed £18.94 up on the deposit, propped up by a few finishers with huge balances; the luckiest 1% held £704.30 or more. Deposit-first, the mean was £14.99 up. Yet the formula prices the £40 bonus at −£16.00 at 35x. Both are honest. The formula bills you for every pound of the £1,400, while most real sessions stop far short of it and escape the rest of the bill, and a handful of large wins hold up the mean.
The figure most players actually live through is the median, and it came out at £0 in every bonus row. So the recommendation for this section is short: if you take a package from one of these casinos, pick a stage whose terms play the deposit first, write your walk-away figure down before the first spin, and treat the bonus as a second chance rather than the main event.
Clear big wagering on a steady slot, not a spiky one
The slot you clear on can matter more than any clause in the terms. The same tied-together offer, £20 plus a £40 bonus at 35x staked at 20p, ran for 50,000 sessions on three of our model slots. Their RTPs are nearly identical. Their volatility is not.
| Model slot | Finished the £1,400 | Ended above £20 | Mean closing balance | Formula value at 35x |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| “Steady”: low volatility, 96.2% RTP, top prize 400x | 31.2% | 28.4% | £26.64 | −£13.20 |
| “Classic”: medium volatility, 96.0% RTP, top prize 3,000x | 14.3% | 13.8% | £38.94 | −£16.00 |
| “Spiky”: high volatility, 95.9% RTP, top prize 10,000x | 5.3% | 5.1% | £47.43 | −£17.40 |
A steady game drip-feeds small wins, so the balance lives through the long middle of a play-through. A spiky game pays seldom and big: most balances die young, and the few that survive are large. That is why the spiky model posts the best mean and the worst finishing rate. Unless you are hunting one enormous result, a 5.3% chance of getting through is a poor swap for a fatter average.
The formula values differ slightly because the RTPs do. For the Steady model the sum is £40 × (1 − 35 × 3.8%) = −£13.20, since a 96.2% game takes 3.8p per pound staked on average rather than 4p.
Read the terms before you choose, though. Plenty of bonuses bar some games or count them at less than 100%, and the summaries do not list which games any casino carries. The lesson travels anywhere: when several eligible slots are open to you, the steadier one gives a long wagering line its best chance.
Price any welcome bonus in one line
A single formula prices every match on this site. Copy it onto a sticky note and keep it by the screen:
E = B × (1 − W × (1 − RTP))
Here B stands for the bonus alone, W for how many times it must be staked and RTP for the slot’s long-run return. Keep your deposit out of B, because that money was yours before the offer. A 96% slot keeps 4p of each pound staked on average, so staking W × B costs you 4p for every one of those pounds, and the bonus is worth whatever survives. At 25x the cost eats the whole bonus, which is why any multiple beyond 25x gives a formula value below zero.
£40 bonus at 35x: £40 × 35 = £1,400 staked; £1,400 × 4% = £56 expected cost; £40 − £56 = −£16.00
| Bonus and how you collect it | At 10x (UK cap) | At 35x | At 40x |
|---|---|---|---|
| £20: a 100% match on £20 | £12.00 | −£8.00 | −£12.00 |
| £40: a 200% match on £20 | £24.00 | −£16.00 | −£24.00 |
| £50: five £20 stages at 50% | £30.00 | −£20.00 | −£30.00 |
| £60: three £20 stages adding to 300% | £36.00 | −£24.00 | −£36.00 |
| £100: five £20 stages at 100% | £60.00 | −£40.00 | −£60.00 |
Read down the columns. Under the UK’s 10x cap a larger bonus is simply worth more. At the 35x and 40x seen offshore a larger bonus carries a deeper negative value, because the wagering swells with it. That does not mean a big package always loses you money; the simulations above show most sessions stop early. It means the bigger the package, the more deposits and hours it demands before anything is yours.
When the multiple covers deposit and bonus together, put both into the stake line. The £40 bonus on £20 at 35x then needs £2,100 of stakes and its formula value sinks to −£44.00, which is £40 − £2,100 × 4%.
Run your own numbers
The match calculator opens on an offshore 200% start on £20 at 40x. Change the match, the multiple and the base to copy any offer. The spins calculator opens on 150 spins at 10p with 35x on the winnings; set the wagering to 0 where the terms pay spin winnings as cash.
Budget the hours as well as the pounds
Wagering is time. Licensed online slots cannot spin faster than once every 2.5 seconds, and this page borrows that pace as a floor for any casino. The table shows how long each play-through lasts with no breaks whatsoever.
| Offer | Stakes to clear | Spins at 20p | Time at 20p | Spins at 50p | Time at 50p |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 100% on £20 at 10x (UK cap) | £200 | 1,000 | 42 min | 400 | 17 min |
| 200% on £20 at 35x | £1,400 | 7,000 | 4 h 52 min | 2,800 | 1 h 57 min |
| 200% on £20 at 40x | £1,600 | 8,000 | 5 h 33 min | 3,200 | 2 h 13 min |
| 200% on £20, 35x on deposit and bonus | £2,100 | 10,500 | 7 h 18 min | 4,200 | 2 h 55 min |
| Three £20 stages adding to 300%, at 40x | £2,400 | 12,000 | 8 h 20 min | 4,800 | 3 h 20 min |
| Five £20 stages at 50%, at 35x | £1,750 | 8,750 | 6 h 5 min | 3,500 | 2 h 26 min |
| Five £20 stages at 100%, at 40x | £4,000 | 20,000 | 13 h 53 min | 8,000 | 5 h 33 min |
Stake size moves the clock, not the bill. Each pound staked on a 96% slot costs 4p on average, whether it goes in at 20p or at 50p. A bigger stake does change your chance of finishing, since a short run of losses can wipe out a balance faster, and the bonus terms will name a maximum bet you must stay under.
Now set the deadline next to the hours. At UK-licensed casinos bonus money usually lasts anywhere from a few days to 30 days, and free spins from 24 hours to 7 days; offshore terms set their own windows. A five-stage package at 40x is nearly 14 hours of spinning at 20p, and squeezed into a 7-day window that becomes about two hours a day, every day.
Diary test. Put the hours in your calendar before you deposit. If you would not book that much time for any other hobby this week, the package is too big for you.
What a UK licence does to a welcome offer
Sign up at a Gambling Commission licensee and the welcome comes smaller but tamer. Seven rules do the taming:
- A 10x ceiling, from 19 January 2026. No bonus can ask you to wager more than ten times its own value, and no promotion can make you mix products, a bet plus slot play for instance, to qualify.
- ID first, from 7 May 2019. Nobody plays, not even with bonus money or free spins, until age and identity have been confirmed.
- Gamstop membership, from 31 March 2020. All licensed online operators belong, so one self-exclusion shuts every licensed welcome in one go.
- Debit only, from 14 April 2020. When a licensed site’s offer says “add a card”, it means a debit card, because credit cards are out for gambling.
- A floor under spin speed, from 31 October 2021. No autoplay, and a slot spin cannot start sooner than 2.5 seconds after the last, so every play-through takes a minimum time.
- Stake ceilings, from 9 April 2025 and 21 May 2025. A slot spin is capped at £5 from age 25 and at £2 for 18 to 24 year olds, whatever a bonus would otherwise allow.
- A limit question, from 31 October 2025. Before your first payment the site has to prompt you to choose a deposit limit.
You also will not see crypto at a licensed cashier. No rule bans it outright: under guidance last updated on 5 July 2021, a licensee would first have to convince the Commission about its anti-money-laundering controls and its responsible play, and the regulator’s 2026 talk of exploring a route came with no timetable.
Betting-led brands: the casino follows the sportsbook
Where sport comes first, the casino welcome usually hangs on a deposit. bet365, still privately owned and based in Stoke-on-Trent, treats its casino as the second business and, as a rule, builds casino welcomes on a deposit. Flutter’s betting names, Sky Bet, Betfair and Paddy Power, link theirs to a first deposit or a first stake. Betway runs sport and casino as a single brand and pays its welcomes on deposits, while Unibet leads with sport and bolts on a casino. The January 2026 rules stop any of them making a casino deal depend on a bet, so judge their casino offers on the same formula as anyone else’s.
Casino-first and bingo brands
Flutter’s casino-led name is Sky Vegas, the brand in that group that players most often connect with spins needing no deposit. Kindred, now inside FDJ United, gives 32Red the same casino-first job. 888 Casino has been live since 1997, and its adverts featured no-deposit spins for ten years; its owner evoke also holds 777 Casino and, from 2022, William Hill. Bally’s runs Jackpotjoy, Virgin Games and Double Bubble Bingo on one platform with its Rainbow Riches and Monopoly casinos, and the group’s welcomes usually add bonus money to a £10 deposit, followed by a steady trickle of small offers for regular players. BetMGM’s British site, opened in 2023, sits on LeoVegas’s licence and platform; MGM Resorts owns the LeoVegas group, which was built for phones first.
Groups, high streets and the no-wagering names
Entain pairs the Ladbrokes and Coral betting shops with a big bingo estate that includes Foxy Bingo and Gala Bingo, and many of its sites run on shared accounts. In practice that means one welcome for the whole group rather than one per brand, and an old account at a sister site can rule you out before you begin. Enforcement lands on the company holding the licence, not on the shop sign, and the sums are serious: William Hill’s largest fine or settlement came to £19.2m in 2023, while even bet365’s largest, in 2024, was £582,120.
Admiral Casino, Genting Casino, Grosvenor Casinos and Betfred all trade from premises you can visit, so they are the simplest brands to verify and the least likely to disappear overnight. Jumpman Gaming’s sites, Prime Casino, Dream Jackpot and Amazon Slots, give a first depositor one turn of a prize wheel, which makes the advertised top prize a ceiling: most turns land lower.
What an offshore licence leaves out
Every casino out here is licensed in Curaçao, Anjouan or Costa Rica. Not one of them holds a Gambling Commission licence or belongs to Gamstop. That is the reason 35x to 40x is allowed, and this is what comes with it:
- a Gamstop self-exclusion has no reach there;
- the 10x ceiling and the rule against mixing products in one promotion fall away;
- so do the slot stake ceilings of £5 and £2 and the minimum gap of 2.5 seconds between spins;
- nobody has to ask you for a deposit limit before your first payment;
- there is no UK complaints path, under which a licensed firm has eight weeks to settle a complaint through its own process before telling you which independent dispute service can take it further.
Taking deposits from British customers without a Commission licence is against the law for the business itself. The law leaves you alone as a customer; it simply leaves you unprotected as well.
The rest of the offshore market follows the same pattern. Velobet and Rolletto, for instance, share an owner, Santeda International B.V., with three more Curaçao-licensed sites, Mystake among them. A single owner means that, if a dispute starts, there is a single firm abroad to pursue. You will not find those sites on the Commission’s public register, Gamstop has no hold over them, nothing limits their wagering, and a complaint to the Commission about them goes nowhere. Rainbet, an Anjouan licensee operated by RBGAMING N.V., is built around crypto: you pay in Bitcoin or other coins, a method no licensed British casino offers. Kinghills and NineWin, both licensed in Curaçao and launched recently, have no public record yet and reach British players through “not on GamStop” pages, a pitch aimed at exactly the people who chose to stop. Roobet and Gamdom, two more Curaçao crypto casinos, hold no licence for Great Britain, and a coin deposit sent there has no bank chargeback behind it. None of these eight brands is licensed in Great Britain, so every protection in the list above is missing at all of them.
Six red flags to spot in two minutes
Run this list over any offer before you pay in. One flag means read the terms again; two mean walk away.
- A multiple with no base. “35x” with no word on whether it means the bonus, or bonus and deposit, usually means the bigger figure.
- No order of play. If nothing says your deposit is used first, value the offer as tied together.
- A bet limit you cannot locate. Breaking a rule you never saw can still cost you the bonus and everything it won.
- A deadline shorter than the hours. If the clock table above says eight hours and the window is three days, the offer is built for you to fail.
- Stages that reward speed. A second deposit due within days of the first pushes you to spend money you had not set aside.
- Credit pushed at the cashier. Gambling on borrowed money adds interest to every loss, which is why the credit-card ban at licensed sites dates back to 14 April 2020.
A seven-day plan for your first package
Big packages tempt you into big weeks. A plan keeps the week the size you picked. Here is one built around a single £20 stage.
- Day 1, fifteen minutes: read and decide. Open the terms and note the licence, the wagering base, the order of play and the bet limit. Write down the one deposit you would make anyway. If the answer is none, stop here.
- Day 1, ten minutes: paperwork and limits. Register, upload your documents straight away and set a deposit limit if the account offers one. The terms ask for documents before the first payout, so get it done while nothing is waiting on it.
- Day 2: one deposit, one rule. Pay in the £20 and fix your walk-away figure, say £30, before the first spin. On a deposit-first offer, cash out the moment you reach it.
- Days 3 to 5: timed sessions. Play in 30-minute blocks with a timer running. Jot down the stakes cleared after each block so you can see how far the line still runs.
- Day 6: the second-stage question. Fund the next stage only if you would have paid in this week regardless. Never to win back the first.
- Day 7: tally the week. Add up what went in, what came out and how many hours it took. If any of the three surprised you, skip the stages that remain.
Use the tools that exist. Licensed casinos offer deposit limits and cooling-off breaks, and a pause costs nothing. Offshore casinos may offer fewer of them, which is one more reason to write your own limits down before you start. The safer gambling page lists the blocking tools and where to find help.
Every welcome bonus guide, by offer type
Each guide below takes one welcome format apart with its own numbers. Start with the one that matches the headline that brought you here.
- 100% match: choosing a 100% deposit bonus by order of play, bet limit and game weighting.
- 200% match: 200% on a small deposit against 100% on a bigger one, and clearing at 10x next to 40x.
- 300% match: picking and clearing a 300% package spread over deposits, then what it costs.
- 400% match: how 400% headlines are totted up across several deposits, and how to clear one if you take it.
- Slots sign-up offers: slot welcome packages weighed on match, spins, wagering and bet limit.
- Bingo sign-up offers: UK bingo welcome formats and how to claim one.
- £5 for 100 spins, no wagering: finding, claiming and checking a no-wagering £5 spin deal.
- £5 for 200 spins: why the value of each spin decides what 200 spins pay.
- £10 for 100 spins: 100 spins against a 100% match for the same £10.
- £10 for 200 spins, no wagering: the win cap on each batch, the check that matters most.
- £10 for 300 spins: drip schedules, collecting every batch and the larger offshore spin packages.

Where these numbers come from
All simulated figures here come from our own model slots, which are not real games, and none is a real casino’s result. The “Classic” model returns 96.0%, has medium volatility, lands a win on 25.8% of spins, reaches its feature once per 160 spins on average and limits any win to 3,000x the stake. The “Steady” model returns 96.2% with low volatility, a 36.0% hit rate, a feature every 110 spins on average and a 400x top prize. The “Spiky” model returns 95.9% with high volatility, a 16.8% hit rate, a feature every 230 spins on average and a 10,000x top prize.
Session counts: 100,000 for the no-bonus baseline and the 10x matches, 50,000 for each 35x and 40x run, 250,000 for the 100 cash spins and 20,000 for the spins carrying 35x on their winnings. Tied-together sessions hold deposit and bonus in one balance and spin at 20p until the requirement has been staked or there is too little left for one more spin. Deposit-first sessions spin the £20 alone at 20p and cash out once it reaches £30; if it runs dry, the £40 bonus is played alone at 20p against the full requirement, and stakes made with the deposit do not count towards it. Spins are valued at 10p, and spin winnings with wagering are replayed at 10p.
Paper values come from E = B × (1 − W × (1 − RTP)), set at 96% unless a model’s own RTP is named, with your deposit kept out of B. The play-through equals W × B, and every clearing time assumes one spin each 2.5 seconds without a pause. Rules and their dates are the Gambling Commission’s; brand facts stick to ownership, formats and published enforcement figures; the offer details are as listed in October 2026 and can change, so the terms always have the last word.
Welcome bonus questions, answered
Which of these welcome bonuses should I take?
Start from the number of deposits you would make anyway. For a single £20 deposit, a 200% first-deposit match puts the most bonus in your account at once, £40, while a 300% total spread over three deposits pays out its £60 only if you fund all three stages at £20 each. Whichever you choose, look for terms that spend your deposit first: in the simulations that raised the share of sessions beating the deposit from 13.8% to 35.9% at 35x. Those casinos all hold offshore licences, and the terms show the licence and the full rules.
Is a bigger match percentage always better?
No. Under the UK’s 10x cap a larger bonus is worth more on paper, yet at 35x to 40x the formula value drops as the bonus grows, because the wagering grows alongside it. A £40 bonus at 35x is −£16.00 on paper, and a £20 bonus at the same multiple is −£8.00. The split across deposits and the order of play count for more than the headline.
What does 35x wagering mean in pounds and hours?
Multiply the bonus by 35. A £40 bonus calls for £1,400 of stakes, which is 7,000 spins at 20p, or 4 h 52 min with a spin every 2.5 seconds and no breaks. If the 35x covers deposit and bonus together, the same offer calls for £2,100.
How much wagering can a UK-licensed casino ask for?
Ten times the bonus at most, since 19 January 2026. The same package of rules bars promotions that make you combine kinds of gambling, so a licensed casino welcome cannot hang on a sports bet. The casinos out here hold offshore licences, so neither rule binds them.
Why are the simulated averages positive when the formula is negative?
The formula assumes you stake the whole requirement, so it charges the whole cost. In real play a session ends when the money does: 85.7% of the tied-together sessions at 35x finished with nothing and never paid the remainder of that cost, while a few big finishes pulled the mean up. Both figures are honest, but the one most players experience is the median, which was £0.
What does deposit-first, or non-sticky, mean?
It describes a bonus kept apart from your deposit until the deposit is spent. While your own money is in play you can withdraw it and give up the bonus, so a lucky start can be banked. Only once the deposit has gone does the bonus come into play, with its wagering still to clear.
Does the slot I choose change my chances of clearing a bonus?
Yes, by a lot. With the same £40 bonus at 35x, 31.2% of sessions got through on a low-volatility model slot, 14.3% on a medium one and 5.3% on a high-volatility one. Read the terms first, because many bonuses bar some games or count them at less than 100%.
Will I need to send documents before I can withdraw?
The terms at an offshore casino say documents are needed before the first withdrawal, so upload them on the day you sign up. UK-licensed casinos go further and must confirm who you are before you play at all, which has been the rule since 7 May 2019.
I am registered with Gamstop. Is an offshore welcome bonus a good idea?
No. Gamstop has no reach over offshore casinos, so it cannot hold the break you chose, and none of the protections a UK licence brings applies there. If the pull to play is working against your exclusion, talk to GamCare or GambleAware, both free and confidential.
Can I take welcome offers at several casinos?
Each casino normally allows one welcome per person and per household, and licensed groups often allow one across all their brands. Every casino out here sets its own rule in its terms. Taking several at once multiplies the wagering hours as well as the bonus money.
