Free £5 No Deposit Casino Bonus: How to Find One, Claim It and Read the Three Terms That Matter
A free £5 with nothing paid in comes from UK-licensed casinos, turns up less often than free spins, and lands in your account only after your ID has been checked. The paid route runs separately: offshore-licensed deposit welcome packages, each starting at £20 or €20, with the licence and the full terms set out in writing before you claim. For the free £5 itself, one figure helps most: in simulated play it cleared its 10x wagering in a third of sessions on a low-volatility slot, against roughly one in seven on a medium one.

€1,000 in matches and 150 spins, split over your first three deposits (300% combined) Deposit needed 35x wagering where the others ask 40x, a €5 bet limit and spin winnings you keep without wagering. The friendliest terms on this board by offshore standards: 35x instead of 40x, two weeks to finish, a published €5 bet limit and spin winnings with no wagering on them. The sums still lean against you: €20 in gives €30 of bonus, and clearing it takes €1,050 of slot stakes, about €42 of expected cost on a 96% slot. Five deposits unlock as much as €5,000, 500 spins and a €650 free bet Deposit needed The biggest headline here, €5,000 and 500 spins, but it takes five deposits and 40x on everything. Reaching the €5,000 headline means paying in €1,000 on five separate occasions. Start with €20 instead and the opening match adds €20 that you must play through 40 times: €800 of stakes, which costs about €32 on a 96% slot, more than the bonus itself. Each batch of spins can return €100 at most and expires a day after it lands. As much as £5,000 in matches and 500 spins, unlocked across five deposits Deposit needed Five stages up to £5,000 and 500 spins from a 2026 Costa Rica operator, with a 5x cap on what each stage can pay. PrimeTier Limited, a Costa Rica company, opened this casino in 2026, so there is little history to judge it by. Its welcome package is built like the other five-stage deal on this board: 40x play-through, and £800 of stakes to clear the first £20 bonus at the minimum top-up. A free £5 is the smallest cash bonus a UK casino hands out, and it works like a short, sharp test: either the balance survives £50 of stakes, or it doesn’t. This guide covers where such a credit tends to appear, how to claim it without tripping over the small print, and how to give it the best shot at becoming money you can withdraw. For the wider picture, from spins to bingo tickets, see the guide to every no deposit bonus.
Paid welcome offers are a separate route altogether. The casinos behind them hold licences from Anjouan, Curaçao or Costa Rica rather than from the Gambling Commission, and the offer is always a deposit package that starts at £20 or €20. None of that is a free £5.
All the figures below were worked out for this page. The formula sums are shown line by line, and the simulations put a free £5 through three model slots with very different temperaments, so you can see how much the game you choose changes the result.
A free £5 in five lines
- Look on the licensed casino’s own promotions page. A £5 cash credit is rarer than a handful of spins, it arrives only after your age and ID check, and third-party adverts go stale fast.
- Confirm the wagering is 10x or less. That’s been the legal maximum since 19 January 2026: £50 of stakes on a £5, which leaves £3.00 by the formula on a 96% slot.
- Set the cash-out cap against the withdrawal minimum. Under a £10 cap a Classic-model £5 averaged £1.15, and a cap no higher than the cashier’s minimum may never pay out at all.
- Clear it slowly on the calmest eligible slot. At 10p the low-volatility Steady model got a third of £5 bonuses through; the high-volatility Spiky managed one in twelve.
- Diary the expiry, then forget the money. £50 of 10p stakes takes 20m 50s at the least, so the clock rarely bites, and the £5 is spent the moment the balance hits zero.
Two minutes covers the checks, and the claim itself is the walkthrough below. If you’d rather deposit, a paid welcome package is a separate decision with its own maths, which you’ll find near the end.
Claim a free £5: an eight-minute walkthrough
Do it in one sitting with your ID nearby. Each step names the trap it keeps you out of.
- Find it at the source. Open the casino’s promotions page and confirm “no deposit” sits beside “new customers” and a closing date that hasn’t passed, then screenshot the terms. Trap avoided: claiming from an advert for a campaign that has ended.
- Run the two-minute licence check. The bottom of the site should name the company that holds its licence and give a Gambling Commission account number. Search that number on the public register and make sure the names agree. Trap avoided: a lookalike site.
- Register with details that match your ID. Since 7 May 2019 a licensed casino must establish who you are, and that you’re over 18, before you can spin anything, the £5 included. A mismatch between the form and your documents is an easy way to stall that check.
- Set a deposit limit when the site asks. The prompt has come before every first deposit since 31 October 2025. Pick a low number, because nothing about a free £5 needs a high one.
- Accept the £5 exactly as the terms say. It may land by itself, need an opt-in button or a code, or have to be accepted within a few days. If you’re asked to add a card, only a debit card will do, as credit cards were banned for gambling on 14 April 2020.
- Choose slot and stake before the first spin. Go down the eligible list, open each game’s information screen, note its RTP and favour the lowest-volatility title you can find. Set 10p and stay below any maximum bet in the terms.
- Track the wagering counter, not the balance. £50 to go at the start means 500 spins at 10p. A balance that leaps to £9 on spin 40 is still bonus money until the counter reads zero.
- Withdraw the moment the counter clears. Check the minimum withdrawal and any cap, then cash out to a debit card or e-wallet held in your own name. Every spin you add after that only gives the house edge more to work with.
The three terms that decide a free £5, and three that trim it
Most £5 offers live or die on three lines of small print. Read them in this order, then give the next three a glance.
| Term | What the line usually says | What it does to your £5 |
|---|---|---|
| Wagering | The bonus must be wagered a set number of times before you can withdraw | 10x means £50 of stakes. By the formula, £5 × (1 − 10 × 0.04) = £3.00. At 20x it’s £1.00, and at 25x nothing. |
| Cash-out cap | A ceiling on what you may withdraw from bonus winnings | On the Classic model a £20 cap cut the average from £4.03 to £1.87; on the Steady model, from £3.78 to £3.25. |
| Expiry | A deadline counted from the day the bonus is credited | Usually a few days to 30 days. The 500 spins of 10x at 10p take 20m 50s at the UK pace, so one sitting does it. |
| Maximum stake | A top bet per spin while the bonus is live | The law already caps slots at £5 a spin from age 25 and £2 from 18 to 24, and a bonus may set less. 10p fits under any limit. |
| Eligible slots and their RTP | Only the listed games count towards the wagering | At 94% RTP the same £5 at 10x is worth £5 × (1 − 10 × 0.06) = £2.00, a third less. |
| Withdrawal minimum | The smallest payout the cashier will make | On the Steady model 19.2% of sessions cleared the wagering with less than £10 left. |
The quick multiples for £5 on a 96% slot: no wagering keeps £5.00, 5x leaves £4.00, 10x £3.00, 20x £1.00 and 25x nothing, while the offshore 35x and 40x come out at −£2.00 and −£3.00. Each extra turn of the multiple costs 20p of the £5, so a “£5 free” that asks for more than 10x is either an old page or a site without a UK licence.
Price a £5 offer in the calculator
The calculator opens on a free £5 at 10x on a 96% slot with a £20 cap. Change the bonus, the multiple, the RTP you read on the game’s info screen and the cap, and it returns the formula value, the stakes the wagering needs and how long those take on 10p and £1 spins. It can’t tell you the odds of clearing; for those, use the model tables that follow.
Which slot to play your £5 on: steady, classic or spiky
Two slots with almost the same RTP can treat a £5 bonus very differently. Volatility, meaning how lumpy the wins are, decides whether a small balance lives long enough to reach the end of the wagering. To measure it, the page ran a free £5 at 10x through three of its model slots, invented games that copy nothing real, at 10p a spin: 100,000 sessions each, every session spinning until £50 had been staked or the balance could no longer cover the next spin.
| Model slot, 10p spins | Formula value | Cleared the £50 | Ran out | Average per claim | £10 or more | £20 or more |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Steady: low volatility, 96.2% RTP | £3.10 | 33.4% | 66.6% | £3.78 | 14.2% | 4.5% |
| Classic: medium volatility, 96.0% RTP | £3.00 | 13.9% | 86.1% | £4.03 | 9.0% | 5.6% |
| Spiky: high volatility, 95.9% RTP | £2.95 | 8.0% | 92.0% | £4.33 | 5.0% | 3.2% |
The formula values differ only through RTP: £5 × (1 − 10 × 0.038) = £3.10 for the Steady and £5 × (1 − 10 × 0.041) = £2.95 for the Spiky. The clear rates differ far more than that.
The Steady model got 33.4% of bonuses through the wagering, about two and a half times the Classic’s 13.9% and four times the Spiky’s 8.0%. It manages that because it pays something on 36.0% of spins, so a £5 balance trickles rather than lurches; the Spiky pays on fewer than one spin in five and leans on rare big hits.
The averages run the other way, £3.78 against £4.03 and £4.33, because the spiky slot’s rare finishes are enormous. That’s a statistic about the crowd. For your single claim the clear rate and the chance of £10 or more matter more, and the Steady leads on both: 14.2% of its sessions ended on £10 or more, against 9.0% and 5.0%.
Bonus rounds are part of the story. Across a full 500-spin run the chance of seeing at least one was 99.0% on the Steady, 95.6% on the Classic and 88.7% on the Spiky, whose feature arrives every 230 spins on average against every 110 on the Steady.
10p or 20p?
Doubling the stake halves the work, to 250 spins and 10m 25s instead of 500 and 20m 50s, and it costs you clears on every model.
| Model slot | Cleared at 10p | Cleared at 20p | £10 or more at 10p | £10 or more at 20p |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Steady | 33.4% | 25.2% | 14.2% | 14.1% |
| Classic | 13.9% | 11.2% | 9.0% | 7.4% |
| Spiky | 8.0% | 7.1% | 5.0% | 4.7% |
The recommendation is 10p on the calmest eligible slot. On the Steady, 20p gives up about a quarter of the clears while leaving the chance of £10 or more almost unchanged, so on a short evening 20p on a steady game is a fair swap. On anything spikier, stay at 10p.
Reading volatility off a real game
The models are stand-ins. On a real eligible list, the provider’s own description is the place to look, and some publish it plainly. NetEnt rates Blood Suckers as low volatility with a 98.00% default RTP, Starburst as low to mid at 96.09% and Gonzo’s Quest as mid at 95.97%. Play’n GO calls Book of Dead high volatility at 96.21%, and Pragmatic Play’s Big Bass Bonanza sits at medium-high with 96.71% by default. In the terms used on this page, Blood Suckers and Starburst would sit nearer the Steady end, and Book of Dead nearer the Spiky.
Two of those games ship at several RTP settings, and the casino picks one. Book of Dead’s default is 96.21%, with lower versions at 94.25%, 91.25%, 87.25% and about 84.2%; Big Bass Bonanza’s default is 96.71%, with versions around 95.67% and 94.6%. On a 91.25% build a free £5 at 10x is worth only £5 × (1 − 10 × 0.0875) = £0.63 by the formula, and on 87.25% it turns negative, at −£1.38, while Blood Suckers at its 98.00% default would leave £4.00. Whatever the name on the tile, the figure in the info screen is the one that counts.
If no calm slot is listed
Sometimes every eligible game is a high-volatility title. Then the plan changes: stay at 10p, expect a clear rate nearer the Spiky’s 8.0% than the Steady’s 33.4%, and treat the £5 as a ticket for one long, lucky run rather than a likely withdrawal. If that doesn’t appeal, letting the offer go costs you nothing at all.
No volatility rating? Count the wins
When a provider doesn’t say, you can get a rough feel yourself. Once your account is verified, open the free demo of an eligible slot and count the winning spins in your first 50. The models give a yardstick: the Steady pays on 36.0% of spins, about 18 wins in 50; the Classic on 25.8%, about 13; the Spiky on 16.8%, about 8. Fifty spins is a small sample, so treat the count as a hint rather than a verdict, but a game that pays on barely one spin in six is not the one to trust with a £5 balance.
How long a free £5 lasts, spin by spin
Planning an evening around a free £5? Here’s how long the balance tends to survive at 10p. The page followed 100,000 balances of £5 on each model and counted how many could still afford a spin at each checkpoint. A £5 at 10p can’t run dry before spin 50, since it takes 50 straight losses to empty it, so the table starts at 100.
| Spins played at 10p | Shortest time | Steady, still spinning | Classic, still spinning | Spiky, still spinning |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 100 | 4m 10s | 92.9% | 67.5% | 52.5% |
| 200 | 8m 20s | 63.8% | 33.3% | 23.2% |
| 300 | 12m 30s | 48.4% | 22.3% | 14.0% |
| 400 | 16m 40s | 39.3% | 16.9% | 10.0% |
| 500, wagering met | 20m 50s | 33.4% | 13.9% | 8.0% |
The last row comes from the clearing runs above and the earlier rows from a separate set of 100,000 balances per model, so they aren’t the same sessions, but the pattern is plain. On the Spiky model almost half the claims are over within 100 spins, about four minutes of play. On the Steady more than nine in ten are still going at that point, and nearly two-thirds at 200. Expect a short session on a spiky game and a longer one on a steady game, and either way book the full 21 minutes in case you’re one of the players who get through.
What a cash-out cap takes from a free £5
A cap limits what a cleared bonus can pay out, and on no-deposit offers caps somewhere from £20 to £100 are common. A cap never touches a session that ends small. It bites only on the big finishes, so what it costs you depends on how your slot makes its money.
| Cap on withdrawals | Steady model, average per claim | Classic model, average per claim |
|---|---|---|
| No cap | £3.78 | £4.03 |
| £50 cap | £3.75 | £2.89 |
| £20 cap | £3.25 | £1.87 |
| £10 cap | £2.41 | £1.15 |
On the Classic, 2.5% of sessions finished on £50 or more, and those few carry much of its average, so even a £50 cap removes £1.14 and a £20 cap takes more than half. The Steady’s finishes are mostly modest, with only 0.3% reaching £50, so a £50 cap costs it 3p and a £20 cap 53p. Read the cap first, then pick the slot: under a low cap the calm game is worth more on average as well as clearing more often.
Cap at or under the minimum? If the most you may withdraw is £10 and the cashier won’t pay out less than £10, the only winning outcome is landing exactly on the cap, and anything under £10 stays put.
Cleared, but stuck under the withdrawal minimum
The steady slot’s strength comes with a catch: it clears often, but many of those clears are small. On the Steady model 19.2% of all sessions got through the £50 and finished below £10. On the Classic the figure was 4.9%, and on the Spiky 3.0%. If the cashier’s minimum is £10, those players hold real cash that can’t leave the account.
Playing on to reach the minimum is a fresh bet at the same house edge, and simple arithmetic puts a hard ceiling on the odds. On a game with no edge at all, the chance of turning a balance into £10 before losing it is at most the balance divided by £10:
£6 ÷ £10 = at most 60%; £3 ÷ £10 = at most 30%
With a 4% house edge the real chance is lower still. So decide before you start. If the minimum is £10 and your slot finishes small, either accept that a small clear may be stuck, or choose a slot with bigger finishes and accept fewer clears. On these models the Steady still produced the most withdrawable £10s, 14.2% against 9.0% and 5.0%, so it stays the pick.
Write your stuck rule down before the first spin, while you’re calm. Two sensible versions: “if I clear under the minimum, I leave the balance and move on”, or “I’ll keep spinning 10p until it reaches the minimum or zero, and not a penny of my own goes in”. Either is fine. Deciding in the moment, with £7 on the screen, is how a free offer turns into a deposit.
£5 of play three ways: cash, 50 spins or 25 bigger spins
The same £5 of stakes can arrive as bonus cash, as 50 spins at 10p or as 25 spins at 20p, and on the Classic model the three behave like different products. The spin rows ran 250,000 sessions each.
| Offer, Classic model | Formula value | Average per claim | Midpoint | Ended with nothing | £10 or more | Average under a £20 cap |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| £5 bonus cash, 10x at 10p | £3.00 | £4.03 | £0.00 | 86.1% | 9.0% | £1.87 |
| 50 spins at 10p, paid as cash | £4.80 | £4.82 | £3.13 | 0.0% | 6.6% | £4.20 |
| 25 spins at 20p, paid as cash | £4.80 | £4.82 | £2.70 | 0.1% | 8.3% | £3.99 |
Both spin rows share a formula value: 50 × £0.10 × 96% and 25 × £0.20 × 96% each come to £4.80. Spins paid as cash win on almost every count, with a higher average, a midpoint of about £3 instead of zero, and far more of their value surviving a £20 cap. Bonus cash keeps one edge, a slightly better chance of reaching a withdrawable £10 (9.0% against 6.6% for the 10p spins), because a lucky balance can keep growing through 500 spins.
For most people, then, 50 no-wager spins are the stronger free offer. The 50 no-wager spins guide shows how to find one, and the 5 free spins guide covers the smallest spin offer of all.
Where a £5 credit tends to turn up: a 15-minute weekly sweep
Promotions change too fast for any page to promise a live £5, so here’s a routine instead. Set aside a quarter of an hour once a week, work down the list, and stop as soon as you find a credit worth taking. Every brand named holds a Gambling Commission licence, which brings the ID check, Gamstop Online, the credit-card ban and the 10x ceiling, and none of them offers crypto payments.
- Casino-first brands. Sky Vegas is the Flutter name built on casino play, and the group brand people most connect with no-deposit spins. 888 Casino has been online since 1997 and spent ten years advertising spins with no deposit, and 32Red is Kindred’s casino-led brand. Their free-offer record is mostly spins, so a £5 cash credit there is the rarer find, but they’re the right first stop.
- Accounts you already hold. Monopoly Casino, Virgin Games and Jackpotjoy are three of the Bally’s (Gamesys) brands, alongside Rainbow Riches Casino and Double Bubble Bingo. That platform pairs a “deposit £10, play with more” welcome with frequent small promotions for existing players, so if you hold an account at one, its offers tab may be where a small credit appears.
- No-wagering brands. PlayOJO and MrQ put no wagering on any bonus, so a reward from either would be cash from the start and the 10x sums on this page wouldn’t apply.
- Skip the sportsbook-led welcomes for this search. bet365, Betway and Flutter’s Paddy Power, Betfair and Sky Bet tie casino welcomes to a deposit or a stake as a rule, so a “£5” in their adverts is likelier to be a free bet than casino cash. Since 19 January 2026 a free bet can’t unlock casino play in any case.
- Skip prize wheels too. Amazon Slots, Dream Jackpot and Prime Casino, the Jumpman Gaming sites, give a spin of a prize wheel on a first deposit. The headline is the wheel’s top slice, and it needs a payment first.
- Before you claim, check the group. Ladbrokes, Coral, Gala Casino, Foxy Bingo and PartyCasino all belong to Entain, with many brands on shared accounts, so one welcome across the group is the usual rule. BetMGM has run on LeoVegas’s licence and platform since its UK launch in 2023, so the same often-one-per-group rule may apply across that family.
- Verify the name. Betfred, Grosvenor Casinos, Genting Casino and Admiral Casino have high-street premises you can walk into. For a name such as Magic Red, NetBet or Mr.Play, find the licence-holding company and account number printed at the bottom of its pages and search the register.
When the Commission fines a group, the notice names the company that holds the licence. By year, the largest fine or settlement for each of these groups: Betway £11.6m in 2020; Entain £17m in 2022; Kindred £7.1m, Betfred £3.25m and William Hill £19.2m in 2023; bet365 £582,120 in 2024. None of that tells you how a £5 bonus will be handled. It tells you someone can act if it isn’t.
Offshore “£5 free” and bigger chips: what changes
Casinos licensed in Curaçao, Costa Rica or Anjouan answer the same search with “free chips”, usually bigger than £5, commonly wagered 30x to 60x, and with cash-outs typically held to £100 or less. Put a £5 chip through the formula at those multiples and it’s underwater: £5 × (1 − 40 × 0.04) = −£3.00 at 40x, and −£7.00 at 60x.
The bigger issue is what you give up. Such a site isn’t on the UK register, so Gamstop doesn’t cover it, no 10x ceiling applies, the UK’s slot stake limits don’t bind it and no UK body will hear a complaint about a refused withdrawal. One Curaçao company, Santeda International B.V., runs Velobet, Donbet, Rolletto, Goldenbet and Mystake, all crypto-friendly and all beyond the Commission’s reach, while Rainbet, licensed in Anjouan through RBGAMING N.V., is built around Bitcoin and other coins. A licensed £5 looks smaller on paper and is worth more in practice.
Time is against a chip too. At 40x, even a £5 chip means £200 of stakes: 2,000 spins at 10p and at least 1h 23m 20s at the UK pace, four times the play a licensed £5 at 10x asks for.
The cap matters more offshore too. When the most a chip can ever pay is £100, the rare session that clears big is simply cut back to that figure. In the hub’s simulation of a £20 chip at 40x on 20p spins, 6.4% of sessions cleared, and 4.0% of all sessions ended on exactly the £100 ceiling, so most of the players who got through were trimmed to it.
If you’d rather deposit: a paid package against a free £5
A paid welcome offer answers a different question: what to take once you’ve decided to pay in. As of October 2026 this part of the market is licensed offshore, with no Gambling Commission licence and no Gamstop link. The offer is a deposit welcome package with a £20 or €20 minimum, 35x to 40x wagering, and 150 to 500 free spins split across several deposits. Match structures vary: a package may reach 300% across three deposits without matching any single one at 300%, open with a 200% first-deposit match, spread its matches over five deposits, or add a free bet. In places the terms promise that winnings from the spins arrive as cash, they ask for documents before a first withdrawal, and somewhere a 2026 launch date is printed.
Put £5 of offshore bonus through the formula and the sign flips: at 35x it’s £5 × (1 − 35 × 0.04) = −£2.00, and at 40x −£3.00, against £3.00 at the UK’s 10x. A package isn’t a bigger version of a free £5. It’s a reason to deposit £20, and it only makes sense if you’d already decided to; the hub’s simulation of a £20 deposit inside a 35x package shows when that trade can pay. For a small deposit of your own at a licensed site, the £5 deposit casino guide and the guide to £5 for 100 no-wager spins cover the options.
Even once you’ve chosen to deposit, two lines in the terms deserve a minute. Check whether your own deposit is held together with the bonus until the wagering is met, which the full terms will say, and verify your documents early, since out here they are needed before the first withdrawal.
Red flags on a £5 advert
- “£5 free” with 20x, 35x or 40x. That’s beyond the UK’s 10x ceiling, in place since 19 January 2026, so the page is stale or the site is unlicensed.
- “Deposit £5 to claim your free £5”. It’s a deposit offer wearing a no-deposit badge.
- A £5 cap with a £10 minimum withdrawal. Nothing the bonus wins can leave on its own.
- “No ID, no waiting”. Licensed sites must check age and identity before any play, so the promise rules the site out.
- “Not on GamStop”. Every licensed online casino has sat inside Gamstop since 31 March 2020, and the boast simply advertises a missing licence.
- A sports bet attached. “Bet £5 on football, get £5 for slots” mixes two kinds of gambling in one offer, which stopped being allowed on 19 January 2026.
Claiming more than one free offer? Keep a log
Free offers come and go, and it’s easy to lose track of which £5 expires when. A note on your phone with five columns does the job, and filling it in takes under a minute per claim.
- Casino and owner. Writing down the group as well as the brand shows you when two sites share an owner before you try to claim twice.
- Date claimed and expiry, with the hour. A deadline you can see is one you won’t miss.
- Wagering left. Copy it from the counter at the end of each session.
- Cap and withdrawal minimum. Two numbers that tell you in advance what a good result can actually pay.
- Outcome. Cleared and withdrawn, cleared but stuck, or ran out.
Look back over it once a month. If the outcome column mostly reads “ran out”, that’s the maths working as expected, not bad luck to chase. If you spot a deposit you made to keep a bonus alive, take it as the signal to step back; the next section has the tools.
Play the £5, then stop
A free £5 can’t cost you anything except time. The risk starts when it’s gone, and three habits keep it from starting.
- Set the deposit limit low on day one. The prompt appears before your first deposit, so use it.
- Write down a stop time. 500 spins at 10p take about 21 minutes, and when they’re done, so are you.
- Never top up to rescue a bonus. A deposit made after a £5 runs dry is ordinary gambling with your own money, at the same house edge.
The legal stake ceilings, £5 a spin from age 25 and £2 a spin from 18 to 24, are limits, not targets. If gambling is starting to feel less like a choice, the National Gambling Helpline takes calls free on 0808 8020 133, day and night, and Gamstop can block every licensed online casino for you in one registration.
How this page’s numbers were made
Formula values use E = B × (1 − W × (1 − RTP)), with B = £5, W the wagering multiple and RTP 96% unless a model’s own RTP is named (96.2% for the Steady, 95.9% for the Spiky); for spins, B is spins × spin value × RTP. Minimum playing times assume 2.5 seconds a spin with no pauses, the UK floor since 31 October 2021.
The simulations used three of the site’s model slots, invented games rather than copies of real ones. Steady: 96.2% RTP, low volatility, a win on 36.0% of spins, a feature every 110 spins on average, top win 400x. Classic: 96.0%, medium volatility, a win on 25.8% of spins, a feature every 160 spins, top win 3,000x. Spiky: 95.9%, high volatility, a win on 16.8% of spins, a feature every 230 spins, top win 10,000x. Each £5 run used 100,000 sessions at a fixed stake of 10p or 20p, stopping when £50 had been staked, at which point the balance counts as cash, or when the balance could no longer pay for a spin, which counts as nothing. Caps were applied to the cleared balance. The spin offers ran 250,000 sessions each, and bonus-round chances are 1 − (1 − 1/n) raised to the number of spins, where n is the model’s average gap between features.
Rules and dates come from the Gambling Commission’s announcements. Offer sizes and offshore patterns are market patterns checked in October 2026, with Gambling Insider’s 2026 no-deposit guide as the source for chip caps; brand facts come from a fixed, checked sheet, and offer details are read off the published terms. The scoring is explained on how we rate offers.
Free £5 questions, answered
Which casinos give a free £5 with no deposit?
Casinos licensed by the Gambling Commission now and then offer new customers £5 of bonus cash, less often than free spins and only after your age and identity are checked, so look on each casino’s own promotions page and confirm the terms there. Casino-first brands such as Sky Vegas and 888 Casino are known for no-deposit spins rather than cash, which makes a £5 credit the rarer find. The paid alternative is a deposit welcome package from an offshore-licensed casino, from £20 or €20, and none of those is a free £5.
What is a free £5 at 10x worth?
£3.00 by the formula on a 96% slot, because 10x means £50 of stakes and those cost about £2 on average. In simulation the average per claim ran from £3.78 to £4.33 depending on the model slot, but the midpoint result was zero on all three, since most sessions ran out first.
Which slot should I use to clear a £5 bonus?
The calmest one on the eligible list. On 10p spins the low-volatility Steady model cleared 33.4% of £5 bonuses, the Classic 13.9% and the high-volatility Spiky 8.0%. Check each game’s information screen for its RTP as well, and choose the highest version on offer.
Is 10p or 20p the better stake?
10p cleared more often on every model: 33.4% against 25.2% on the Steady and 13.9% against 11.2% on the Classic. 20p halves the minimum time to 10m 25s, so it’s a fair trade on a steady slot when time is short.
How much does a £20 cash-out cap cost me?
It depends on the slot. On the Classic model a £20 cap pulled the average of a free £5 from £4.03 to £1.87, while on the Steady model it fell only from £3.78 to £3.25, because the calm slot rarely finishes above £20.
Why can’t I withdraw the £7 left after clearing the wagering?
The cashier’s minimum is probably £10. The money is yours, but it can’t leave until more play lifts it over the line, and even on a game with no house edge the chance of turning £7 into £10 before losing it is at most 70%.
How long do I have to use a free £5?
Whatever the terms say, which for bonus funds is usually a few days to 30 days. At 10p the 500 spins that 10x needs take at least 20m 50s, so the real risk is forgetting, not running out of time.
Is a free £5 better than 50 free spins?
Not usually. Fifty 10p spins paid as cash averaged £4.82 on the Classic model with a midpoint of £3.13, against £4.03 and a midpoint of zero for £5 of bonus cash at 10x. The cash bonus edged ahead only on the chance of reaching £10, 9.0% against 6.6%.
Can I take a free £5 at two brands in the same group?
Expect not. Welcomes are usually one per person and household and often one per group, and groups such as Entain run many brands on shared accounts, so taking a second £5 through a sister brand breaks the terms.
Is an offshore £5 free chip worth taking?
On the formula it’s negative at the usual offshore multiples, −£3.00 at 40x and −£7.00 at 60x. The site also sits outside Gamstop, the 10x ceiling and any UK complaints route, so a licensed £5 at 10x is the better deal even though it looks no bigger.
