Non-GamStop Casinos No Deposit Bonus: What Free Chips Pay, and the Deposit Offers to Weigh Instead
Looking for a free chip at a casino outside Gamstop Online? Start with the deposit packages instead: in October 2026 they came from casinos licensed outside the UK rather than in Britain, each showing its licence, a £20 or €20 minimum and the full terms, and none of them is a no-deposit offer. Before you chase a free chip somewhere else, keep one number in mind: a £10 chip at 40x has a formula value of minus £6.00, and 95% of our simulated sessions on it ended with nothing.

€1,000 in matches and 150 spins, split over your first three deposits (300% combined) Deposit needed 35x wagering where the others ask 40x, a €5 bet limit and spin winnings you keep without wagering. The friendliest terms on this board by offshore standards: 35x instead of 40x, two weeks to finish, a published €5 bet limit and spin winnings with no wagering on them. The sums still lean against you: €20 in gives €30 of bonus, and clearing it takes €1,050 of slot stakes, about €42 of expected cost on a 96% slot. Five deposits unlock as much as €5,000, 500 spins and a €650 free bet Deposit needed The biggest headline here, €5,000 and 500 spins, but it takes five deposits and 40x on everything. Reaching the €5,000 headline means paying in €1,000 on five separate occasions. Start with €20 instead and the opening match adds €20 that you must play through 40 times: €800 of stakes, which costs about €32 on a 96% slot, more than the bonus itself. Each batch of spins can return €100 at most and expires a day after it lands. PrimeTier Limited, a Costa Rica company, opened this casino in 2026, so there is little history to judge it by. Checked Oct 2026 18+ · New customers · T&Cs apply. Worth on paper: the bonus at the minimum deposit less the expected cost of clearing its wagering on a 96% slot.
A free chip is the classic offshore sign-up hook: a small cash balance the moment you register, with no card asked for. Two lines in its terms decide whether it is a genuine chance or a long evening of spinning for nothing. One is the wagering multiple. The other is the cash-out cap.
No free chip sits among those packages today. They are deposit welcomes, so this guide does two jobs. It helps you choose and claim one of them with your eyes open, and it prices the free chips you will meet elsewhere, using simulations we ran ourselves. For every offshore angle in one place, go back to our guide to casinos not on GamStop.
One promise first. Not one casino of that sort, and not one of the offshore brands grouped in this guide, holds a British licence, so the UK’s safeguards stay at home when you visit them. If you have joined Gamstop, go straight to the help section near the end; nothing here is a way round it.
Free chips in one minute
- Start with the packages and read them for what they are. Each one asks for a first deposit of at least £20 or €20, sets 35x to 40x wagering and hands out its 150 to 500 spins in batches across several deposits. Not one is a free chip, so only pay in money you are ready to lose.
- Judge any free chip by its multiple first. At 96% RTP a bonus holds positive value only below 25x. Offshore chips commonly ask for 30x to 60x, which pushes the formula value under zero: minus £6.00 on a £10 chip at 40x.
- Then find the cash-out cap. Offshore chips usually limit what you can take out to £100 or less. With that £100 ceiling, the average a £10 chip left at 40x on our medium-volatility model fell from £7.06 to £3.64.
- Play a capped chip the cheap way. Pick the lowest stake the terms allow, on the calmest slot they allow. Our “Steady” model kept £5.19 per chip on average; the “Spiky” one kept £1.96.
- Accept the catch or walk away. Go offshore and Gamstop, the 10x ceiling, a British complaints route and the Commission’s oversight all stay behind. That is what the bigger headline costs.
Want a free try with British protections attached? A licensed no-deposit offer is smaller, but its wagering cannot pass 10x. The section on licensed offers further down says where those come from and what they usually look like.
A two-minute check before you accept any free chip
Run through these seven lines before you register anywhere that advertises a chip. Each takes a few seconds in the terms, and each one moves real money. The figures in the last column come from our own simulated sessions on a £10 chip, played at 20p a spin unless the row says otherwise.
| Look at | Where it sits | What it does to a £10 chip |
|---|---|---|
| The wagering multiple | Usually the first clause of the bonus terms | At 40x you must stake £400 before any withdrawal. Each extra 10x adds £100 of play and, at 96% RTP, £4.00 of expected cost. 40x: −£6.00 |
| The cash-out cap | Bonus terms, under “maximum withdrawal” or “maximum win” | It clips the rare big finishes that hold the average up, so it took £3.42 off the average at 40x on our “Classic” model. £7.06 down to £3.64 |
| The maximum bet while wagering | Bonus terms, often next to the cap | One spin above it can void the chip and anything it won. Lower stakes also keep more under a cap. £4.09 at 10p, £2.18 at £1 |
| Which slots count | The game list attached to the offer | Calm slots finish the wagering far more often than spiky ones. 11.4% Steady, 2.4% Spiky |
| The time limit | Bonus terms, usually near the end | 2,000 spins at 20p fill about 83 minutes at a 2.5-second pace. A short expiry forces all of it into one sitting. 2,000 spins |
| The licence | Site footer, and the offer’s own terms | Curaçao, Anjouan or Costa Rica means no Gamstop, no 10x cap and no UK dispute service if the chip is voided. No UK route |
| Withdrawal documents | General terms, and the offer’s small print | A cashier out here wants your papers before a first payout. Send them on day one, not on the day you win. Day one |
Two failed lines is enough to close the tab. A chip at 50x with a £50 cap has failed twice before you reach the game list, and nothing further down its terms can rescue it.
If a chip passes, write the three numbers on a note before you register: the multiple, the cap and the maximum bet. You will need all three again when you choose a slot and a stake, and casinos rarely repeat them inside the game.
How to pick and claim an offshore deposit package
A deposit package is where the real money goes, so read it properly. Every offer out here is a deposit welcome package, not a free chip, and each carries its licence, its payment methods and its full terms. Here is a five-step routine that takes about ten minutes.
- Read the licence line in the terms. In October 2026 the casinos out here held licences from Anjouan, Curaçao or Costa Rica. Not one is licensed by the Gambling Commission or linked to Gamstop.
- Compare the wagering before the spin count. The range is 35x to 40x. On a £40 bonus that is the gap between £1,400 and £1,600 of play, or £8.00 of extra expected cost at 96% RTP.
- Check how the match is spread. One structure reaches up to 300% across three deposits, with no single deposit matched at 300%. One opens with a 200% match on the first deposit. Two spread their matches over five deposits, so the headline only arrives if you keep paying in.
- Look for spin winnings paid as cash. Some terms say the spins pay out as cash. That removes wagering from the spins themselves and is usually the most valuable line in an offer.
- Verify before you play. The terms say documents are needed before the first withdrawal. Upload them the day you register, while there is nothing to argue about.
A 2026 launch is stated in places. A casino that young has no record you can check, so give that offer an extra minute of reading before you choose it.
What a 200% first-deposit match costs to clear
Take a package whose first deposit is matched at 200% and put in the £20 minimum. The bonus is £40. If the 35x applies to the bonus alone, the sums run like this:
35 × £40 = £1,400 to stake; £1,400 × 4% = £56.00 expected cost at 96% RTP; £40 × (1 − 35 × 0.04) = −£16.00
At 40x the stake rises to £1,600, the expected cost to £64.00 and the formula value falls to −£24.00. If the terms apply the multiple to deposit plus bonus instead, the play-through grows again: 35x on £60 is £2,100.
We also ran it through the simulator. Across 50,000 simulated sessions on our “Classic” model slot at 20p a spin, with your £20 and the £40 bonus in one balance, 14.3% finished the 35x wagering. 85.7% ended with nothing, your deposit included, and 13.8% ended with more than the £20 you put in. The average finish was £38.94, held up by a small number of long runs that landed a big win. It is not what a typical evening looks like.
| £20 deposit, £40 bonus | Play needed | Expected cost | Formula value | Finished (simulated) | Ended with nothing |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 35x on the bonus | £1,400 | £56.00 | −£16.00 | 14.3% | 85.7% |
| 40x on the bonus | £1,600 | £64.00 | −£24.00 | 12.9% | 87.1% |
At 40x the average finish was £37.82 and 12.5% of sessions ended above the deposit. Now the time. 7,000 spins at 20p take roughly 4 hours 52 minutes at a 2.5-second pace. Spread over a week, that is about 42 minutes a day. If that sounds like a chore, it is one: a package like this pays you mostly in playing time, not in cash.
Our pick for this section. If you choose a package, choose it for its lowest multiple and for spins paid as cash, and price the match separately. If the terms do not say whether you can turn the match down, ask support before the first deposit.
How 30x to 60x wagering wears down a £10 chip
A free chip is a cash balance the casino credits when you register, before you have paid anything in. You play it on the slots its terms allow, and you can only withdraw once you have staked a set multiple of it. Offshore, that multiple is commonly 30x to 60x. At a UK-licensed casino it cannot pass 10x, the cap the Gambling Commission brought in on 19 January 2026.
The value of any bonus after wagering follows one formula. Write B for the bonus and W for the multiple:
Value = B × (1 − W × (1 − RTP)); for a £10 chip at 40x and 96% RTP: £10 × (1 − 40 × 0.04) = £10 × (−0.6) = −£6.00
At 96% RTP, every £1 you stake costs 4p on average. So 10x keeps 60% of a bonus, 25x keeps none of it, and anything above 25x turns the formula value negative. That is why the multiple is the first thing to read.
The formula assumes you finish all of the wagering, whatever happens. Real sessions do not work like that: when the balance runs out, the session simply ends and you owe nothing. So we ran each multiple 100,000 times on our “Classic” model slot (medium volatility, 96.0% RTP) with a £10 chip, 20p spins and a £100 cash-out cap.
| Multiple | You must stake | Expected cost at 96% | Formula value | Finished | Average left | Ended with nothing |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10x (UK cap) | £100 | £4.00 | £6.00 | 13.9% | £5.78 | 86.1% |
| 30x | £300 | £12.00 | −£2.00 | 6.1% | £4.11 | 93.9% |
| 40x | £400 | £16.00 | −£6.00 | 5.0% | £3.64 | 95.0% |
| 50x | £500 | £20.00 | −£10.00 | 4.3% | £3.28 | 95.7% |
| 60x | £600 | £24.00 | −£14.00 | 3.8% | £2.98 | 96.2% |
Read the table in two ways. The formula column says what a chip is worth if you are made to finish. The simulated columns say what actually happens when you are allowed to stop at zero. Both point the same way: from 10x to 60x, the share of chips that reach a withdrawal falls from 13.9% to 3.8%, and the average left falls from £5.78 to £2.98.
Why is the simulated average still above zero at 60x? Because a handful of sessions land a big win early and coast to the finish, while every losing session stops at £0 rather than going below it. The average is real, but it lives in those few sessions. At 40x, 95 chips in every 100 end with nothing.
Our recommendation: above 25x, treat a free chip as a lottery ticket that costs you time rather than money. Take it only if an hour or two of slot play is something you wanted anyway, and never top it up with your own cash to keep it alive.
Why a £100 cap bites hardest on a jumpy slot
A cash-out cap is the most you may withdraw from a free chip, however much it wins. Offshore no-deposit chips usually set it at £100 or less. Anything above the cap is removed from your balance when you cash out, so the cap only touches the sessions that go well. That sounds harmless until you remember that those few sessions are the whole of a chip’s average.
To see how much the cap takes, we held everything else still: a £10 chip, 40x wagering, 20p spins, 100,000 sessions per bar. Then we changed the slot’s volatility and the size of the cap.
| Model slot | No cap | £100 cap | £50 cap | Finished | Ended with nothing |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| “Steady”, low volatility, 96.2% RTP | £5.50 | £5.19 | £4.00 | 11.4% | 88.6% |
| “Classic”, medium volatility, 96.0% RTP | £7.06 | £3.64 | £2.18 | 5.0% | 95.0% |
| “Spiky”, high volatility, 95.9% RTP | £8.33 | £1.96 | £1.12 | 2.4% | 97.6% |
Look at the Spiky row. Without a cap it has the best average of the three, £8.33, because its rare huge wins are allowed to count in full. Put a £100 ceiling on it and the average collapses to £1.96, the worst of the three. The calm Steady model loses only 31p to the same cap, because it rarely wins big enough to touch it.
On the Classic model, 2.3% of chips at 40x finished on £100 or more and were cut back to the cap, and 3.6% finished on at least £50. Halve the cap to £50 and the average drops again, to £2.18. A smaller cap is not a detail: it is a second wagering requirement in disguise.
Our recommendation: when a chip has a cap, scan its eligible games for the lowest-volatility slot you can find. Studios often state volatility in the game’s help screen. If the terms only allow one high-volatility game, the chip is close to a pure lottery ticket.
Small stakes keep more of a capped chip
The stake works the same way as volatility. Bigger spins mean fewer, larger swings: more chips crash early, and the ones that soar get clipped by the cap. We kept the “Classic” model, 40x and the £100 cap, and changed only the spin size.
| Stake per spin | Spins to finish 40x | Sessions run | Finished | Average left | At a 2.5-second pace |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10p | 4,000 | 50,000 | 6.4% | £4.09 | About 2 hours 47 minutes |
| 20p | 2,000 | 100,000 | 5.0% | £3.64 | About 83 minutes |
| 50p | 800 | 100,000 | 3.4% | £2.65 | About 33 minutes |
| £1 | 400 | 100,000 | 2.7% | £2.18 | About 17 minutes |
So the slow route keeps nearly twice as much as the fast one: £4.09 at 10p against £2.18 at £1. The price is time. 4,000 spins at 2.5 seconds each is 10,000 seconds, a little under three hours. If the chip gives you a week, that is about 24 minutes a day.
Two cautions before you plan it. Offshore casinos are not bound by the UK’s 2.5-second minimum, so the pace on the screen may be faster; the figure here is a planning yardstick, not a promise about any site. And many chips set a maximum bet while wagering: one spin above it can cost you the lot, so check it before you change the stake at all.
Set it once. Choose the smallest stake the slot offers before the first spin, then leave the stake button alone until the wagering is done or the balance is gone.
Free spins in place of a chip: same rules, smaller start
Offshore no-deposit offers also come as a bundle of free spins on one named slot. The spins themselves cost nothing, but whatever they win is usually added as bonus money with a wagering multiple attached. In practice that makes a spin bundle a free chip whose size you only learn after the last spin.
Take 50 spins at 20p with 40x on the winnings and a £100 cap. On average the spins win 50 × £0.20 × 96% = £9.60 by formula, and the formula value after wagering is £9.60 × (1 − 40 × 0.04) = −£5.76. Across 50,000 simulated sessions on our “Classic” model slot, the spins won £9.73 on average and £6.27 at the median. Then the wagering began: only 4.3% of sessions finished it, the average cash left was £2.94, and 95.7% ended with nothing.
Compare that with the spins inside an offshore deposit package. Some terms say spin winnings are paid as cash, which removes the wagering from the spins altogether. The terms give each spin’s value in the small print; if it is 10p, the sums look like this:
| Spins paid as cash, 10p each | Formula average | Simulated average | Half paid this or less | Paid at least £10 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 150 spins | £14.40 | £14.41 | £10.98 | 58.7% |
| 500 spins | £48.00 | £48.00 | £40.28 | 100% |
Those runs used 250,000 simulated sessions each on the same “Classic” model. Of the 150-spin bundles, 11.7% paid at least £20; of the 500-spin bundles, 26.9% paid at least £50. The formula is simply spins × value × RTP: 150 × £0.10 × 96% = £14.40.
The catch is the route in. These spins arrive after a deposit and in batches spread over several deposits, and spins usually expire within days of landing. Put each batch’s date in your phone calendar the day you claim the first one, and decide in advance how many deposits you are willing to make. Two is a sensible ceiling for most budgets; five is a commitment.
Our recommendation: if a package pays spin winnings as cash, the spins are the part worth collecting and the match is the part to price with the formula before you accept it.
Ten offshore names a free-chip search turns up, and what each licence means
Search for a free chip outside Gamstop and you will soon meet offshore brands like these ten. Here is what the public record says about each, read for someone weighing a no-deposit offer. Not one of the ten holds a licence for Great Britain, and nothing below says any of them is running a free chip today; only their own promotions pages can tell you that, on the day you look.
The Santeda five: one company behind five lobbies
Santeda International B.V. operates five casinos under a Curaçao licence: Rolletto, Velobet, Goldenbet, Mystake and Donbet. For a free-chip hunter that matters in one practical way. Five logos do not mean five independent companies, so a dispute over a voided chip at Donbet ends up with the same business as one at Goldenbet.
None of the five appears on the UK register, and none is connected to Gamstop. Bonus wagering there has no ceiling, so a chip at Rolletto or Velobet could carry any multiple the operator chooses. If a withdrawal is refused, the Gambling Commission cannot act on your complaint. Mystake works under exactly the same arrangement as the other four.
Kinghills and NineWin: new, networked and untested
Each is a Curaçao-licensed brand belonging to a company registered there, with a string of sister sites alongside it. Both are recent launches, which leaves no public history of how they handle capped winnings or a voided bonus. They reach British players mainly through “not on GamStop” pages.
A generous headline from a site with no history is the hardest kind to price. You can read the terms, but you have no evidence of how they are applied when a player wins. Our advice: treat any chip from either as play money until a withdrawal has actually reached you.
Rainbet: an Anjouan licence and a crypto-first model
Rainbet belongs to RBGAMING N.V. and takes its licence from Anjouan, one of the islands of the Comoros. It is a crypto-first casino, a model you will not find at UK-licensed sites. For a free-chip search the licence is the line to note. Anjouan is not a British regulator, so a disagreement over a chip has no UK body to hear it.
Roobet and Gamdom: from video-game skins to casino chips
Roobet and Gamdom hold Curaçao licences and are crypto casinos whose roots lie in the trade in cosmetic items for video games. Neither is licensed for Great Britain. A crypto deposit at either sits outside every British safety net: nobody regulates the casino on your behalf, no ombudsman reviews a dispute, and your bank cannot pull the payment back.
The ten side by side
| Brand | Licence | Operator | What it means for a free chip |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rolletto, Velobet, Goldenbet, Mystake, Donbet | Curaçao | Santeda International B.V. | Every dispute leads back to the same firm; wagering has no ceiling |
| NineWin, Kinghills | Curaçao | Companies registered there, each with sister sites | Recent launches, no record of how caps are applied |
| Rainbet | Anjouan (Comoros) | RBGAMING N.V. | No British body to hear a chip dispute |
| Roobet, Gamdom | Curaçao | Crypto casinos with skins-trading roots | No UK safety net on a crypto deposit |
Judge all ten by the same yardstick: the licence, the multiple and the cap. A familiar name in search results is no evidence that a chip will be paid, and an unfamiliar one is no evidence that it will not.
Licensed no-deposit offers: smaller, checked first, capped at 10x
If what you want is a free try rather than a big headline, the licensed market is the place to compare against. UK no-deposit offers are small. Cash bonuses, when they appear, usually run from £5 to £10. Spin offers usually give 5 to 20 spins, sometimes up to 50, and maximum win caps between £20 and £100 are common.
What you get in return is a rulebook. A licensed casino must confirm who you are, and that you are over 18, before you play anything at all, bonus play included; that rule dates from 7 May 2019. Since 19 January 2026 its wagering cannot pass 10x the bonus, and it cannot ask you to bet and play slots to unlock one promotion. A £10 bonus at 10x has a formula value of £10 × (1 − 10 × 0.04) = £6.00; on our “Classic” model with a £100 cap it left £5.78 on average.
A few licensed names explain where such offers come from:
- Within Flutter, Sky Vegas is the brand built around the casino rather than the sportsbook, and it is the group name people link most with spins collected before paying in.
- 888 Casino went online in 1997 and advertised spins without a deposit for ten years. Today it belongs to evoke, the group once called 888, and the biggest fine or settlement on 888’s record is £9.4m, from 2022.
- MrQ (Lindar Media) and PlayOJO (SkillOnNet) drop wagering from every bonus they give, so any winnings land as cash straight away.
- Jumpman Gaming’s sites, Prime Casino, Amazon Slots and Dream Jackpot among them, open with a prize-wheel spin once you make a first deposit. Read their headline prize as the wheel’s best result, never its usual one.
- Virgin Games and Jackpotjoy, on Bally’s platform, usually lead with “deposit £10, play with more” and keep regulars busy with a steady flow of small promotions.
- bet365 puts its sportsbook ahead of its casino, and the casino side’s welcome offers normally need a deposit.
Whether any of them runs a no-deposit offer on the day you look is for its own promotions page to say. To compare the current shapes, start with every no deposit bonus format rated, or go straight to the maths of a free £10 offer or a free £5 offer. Spin hunters can use the no deposit free spins guide.
One honest limit. If you are registered with Gamstop, licensed sites will turn you away for the length of your exclusion. That is the scheme doing its job, not a problem to solve.
What you sign away for a bigger headline
The headline on an offshore chip looks bigger because the rules behind it are thinner. This table sets out what a licence gives you and what you have once you leave it behind.
| What protects you | Licensed in Great Britain | Licensed offshore |
|---|---|---|
| Gamstop self-exclusion | Every online operator has had to join since 31 March 2020 | Outside the scheme |
| Bonus wagering | Held to 10x or less from 19 January 2026 | Uncapped, with 30x to 60x common |
| Promotions mixing betting and slots | Banned since 19 January 2026 | Not covered by the ban |
| Proof of age and identity | Required before you play at all, bonus money included (rule from 7 May 2019) | Up to the operator; the terms out at that end ask for papers ahead of a first payout |
| A prompt to set a deposit limit | Shown before your first payment in (rule from 31 October 2025) | No UK rule requires it |
| Credit cards | Not allowed for gambling from 14 April 2020 | Outside the ban |
| Slot pace and autoplay | A 2.5-second minimum per spin and autoplay switched off, from 31 October 2021 | Not bound by those rules |
| Cancelling a withdrawal to keep playing | Not allowed: the reverse-withdrawal ban began on 31 October 2021 | The ban does not reach them |
| Complaints | Eight weeks in-house, then an independent ADR provider | No UK route, and the Commission cannot act |
The legal picture is short. Running games or taking bets for people in Great Britain without a Commission licence breaks the law, and the offence belongs to the operator. Your position is different: nobody is likely to chase you, but you have given up every protection in the middle column, and no British body can win them back for you after a dispute.
Credit cards deserve a line of their own. A licensed casino cannot take one, and an offshore cashier may. Gambling on borrowed money can turn a free chip into debt very quickly, so keep any offshore play to a debit card or money you already hold, or better, keep it to nothing. The safer gambling page has tools that help you set a limit before you need one.
Price a free chip in thirty seconds
Before you register for any chip, put its three numbers into the calculator: the chip, the multiple and the cap. Leave RTP at 96% unless the eligible slot’s information screen shows a different figure.
Read the answer like this. A positive value means the chip pays you on average for finishing it. A value below zero means the average is held up only by the rare session that gets lucky early, which is the honest description of most offshore chips.
For an offshore deposit package, use the match version instead. It starts at the £20 minimum, a 200% match and 35x on the bonus; change the multiple to 40x, or the base to deposit plus bonus, if that is what the terms say.
If the match maths looks poor, the guides to a 200% deposit match and to welcome bonuses in general walk through cheaper shapes of the same offer.
Six warning signs on a free-chip advert
Give any free-chip landing page a five-minute scan for these. One sign is a reason to read more slowly; two are a reason to leave.
- A headline with no multiple beside it. If the advert shows the chip but the multiple sits three clicks deep, assume it is at the top of the 30x to 60x range.
- A cap far smaller than the headline suggests. In our runs a £50 ceiling cut the Classic model’s average to £2.18, against £3.64 under a £100 one. Small caps hide in small print.
- A pitch aimed at people who have self-excluded. “Not on GamStop” adverts are written for a reason. If you are the person they are written for, close the page.
- No track record and a big promise. A brand-new site has no history you can check. The bigger its offer, the more weight that missing history carries.
- Documents requested only when you win. Send them before you play. A request that arrives with a withdrawal is the moment disputes begin.
- A clause letting the casino void winnings at its discretion. Offshore, nobody outside the company reviews how that clause is used.
The licence line tells you most of what you need. For what a Curaçao permit does and does not cover, see the guide to Curaçao-licensed casinos; for the paperwork side, the guide to identity checks at offshore sites.
On Gamstop? Start here instead
If you joined Gamstop, you made that choice for a reason, and it was a good one. An offshore free chip is designed to reach you anyway, because the sites behind it are not connected to the scheme. Nothing on this page is meant for you while your exclusion runs.
Here is a plan for today, in the order that helps most:
- Talk to someone. Ring 0808 8020 133, the National Gambling Helpline. Calls cost nothing and someone answers around the clock; ten minutes is enough to start.
- Block gambling payments at your bank. Most banking apps can do it in a few taps; by Monzo’s count, around 90% of banks have one. Pick the longest cooling-off period your bank allows.
- Put a blocker on every device. Blocking software such as GamBan stops a device opening gambling sites and apps. Cover your phone, tablet and laptop, not just one of them.
- Know where your exclusion stands. Gamstop explains how your exclusion works and what happens when the period you chose comes to an end.
If a free-chip advert finds you anyway, treat it as a sign the blocks need tightening, not as an offer. Report the site to your blocker’s support team so it can be added.
Where these numbers come from
Every simulated figure on this page comes from our own model slots, not from real games or any casino’s figures. The “Steady” model has low volatility and a 96.2% RTP; the “Classic” model has medium volatility and 96.0%; the “Spiky” model has high volatility, 95.9% and a 10,000x top win. Their pay tables are our own design.
For the free chips, each scenario ran 100,000 sessions, except the 10p stake run, which ran 50,000 because it needs 4,000 spins per session. A session starts with the chip, spins at a fixed stake until the wagering is complete, and stops at zero if the balance can no longer cover a spin. Any cap is applied to the finished balance. The deposit package ran 50,000 sessions with deposit and bonus in one balance and wagering counted on the bonus. The spins paid as cash ran 250,000 sessions each, with no wagering.
Formula values use B × (1 − W × (1 − RTP)) at 96% RTP, the standard assumption unless a page is about one named slot. Expected cost is play-through × (1 − RTP). Times assume 2.5 seconds a spin, the UK minimum, used as a yardstick only.
Rules and dates come from the Gambling Commission. The typical offshore terms (30x to 60x, caps of £100 or less) come from the Gambling Insider guide to no-deposit codes, 2026. Brand facts are limited to ownership, licence, launch status and the public enforcement record. The package description reflects published terms in October 2026. The chips priced here are worked examples, not any casino’s live terms.
Free-chip questions, answered straight
Which non-GamStop casinos give a no deposit bonus?
None among the paid deposit packages. In October 2026 they were deposit welcomes only, from casinos licensed offshore and not in Britain; each needs at least £20 or €20 and asks for 35x to 40x wagering. Free chips do turn up at other offshore sites. Price any you find before you register: a £10 chip at 40x has a formula value of minus £6.00, and 95% of our simulated sessions on one ended with nothing.
What exactly is a free chip?
It is a cash balance a casino credits when you register, before you deposit. You play it on the slots its terms allow and can only withdraw after staking a set multiple of it, often 30x to 60x offshore. Most chips also cap what you may withdraw, usually at £100 or less.
Is a £10 free chip at 40x worth taking?
Only as a free bit of play, not as money. You must stake £400, which costs £16.00 on average at 96% RTP, more than the chip itself. In 100,000 simulated sessions on our “Classic” model slot, 5.0% finished the wagering and the average left was £3.64 with a £100 cap.
How much does a cash-out cap really take?
More than most players expect, because it trims exactly the sessions that make a chip worthwhile. On our “Classic” model a £100 cap cut a £10 chip’s average at 40x from £7.06 to £3.64, and a £50 cap cut it to £2.18. On the high-volatility “Spiky” model the £100 cap took the average from £8.33 to £1.96.
Which slot should I play a capped chip on?
The calmest one the terms allow, at the lowest stake. Our low-volatility “Steady” model kept £5.19 per chip on average under a £100 cap and finished 11.4% of the time. At 10p a spin the “Classic” model kept £4.09, against £2.18 at £1 a spin.
Are the deposit packages at offshore casinos better than a free chip?
They are bigger, and they cost you a deposit. A £20 deposit with a 200% match at 35x needs £1,400 of play, and in our simulations 85.7% of sessions lost the lot, the £20 as well. The strongest part of a package is spins paid as cash: 150 spins at 10p averaged £14.41 in our runs.
Can I get a no deposit bonus from a UK-licensed casino instead?
Sometimes, and it will be small: usually £5 to £10 in cash or 5 to 20 spins, checked against your identity first and capped at 10x wagering. A £10 bonus at 10x has a formula value of £6.00. If you are registered with Gamstop, licensed sites will refuse you until your exclusion ends, as intended.
Why do offshore casinos ask for documents before a payout?
Expect the request whichever package you pick: the terms out here say documents are needed before the first withdrawal. Send them when you register. Offshore, a dispute over paperwork has no UK body to hear it, so the earlier it is settled the better.
Is it legal to take a free chip from an offshore casino?
The law aims at the business: running gambling for customers in Great Britain without a Gambling Commission licence is the operator’s offence. You are unlikely to face action yourself, but you give up what a licence would have given you, from Gamstop and the 10x ceiling to checks before play and an independent route for complaints.
I have self-excluded with Gamstop. What should I do with these offers?
Leave them. Ring 0808 8020 133, the National Gambling Helpline, free at any hour, turn on your bank’s gambling block, and install a blocker such as GamBan on every device. Gamstop’s own site explains how your exclusion period works.
