Top 20 Slots UK: Twenty Games Worth Playing, Ranked on What Their Makers Publish
Decide where to play before anything else: offshore-licensed casinos, with the licence and terms printed beside each offer. The twenty games follow, ranked first on how much their providers tell you and then on price. One average-length session of 124 spins at 50p costs £1.24 on average on the cheapest of them and £3.10 on the dearest default.

€1,000 in matches and 150 spins, split over your first three deposits (300% combined) Deposit needed 35x wagering where the others ask 40x, a €5 bet limit and spin winnings you keep without wagering. The friendliest terms on this board by offshore standards: 35x instead of 40x, two weeks to finish, a published €5 bet limit and spin winnings with no wagering on them. The sums still lean against you: €20 in gives €30 of bonus, and clearing it takes €1,050 of slot stakes, about €42 of expected cost on a 96% slot. Five deposits unlock as much as €5,000, 500 spins and a €650 free bet Deposit needed The biggest headline here, €5,000 and 500 spins, but it takes five deposits and 40x on everything. Reaching the €5,000 headline means paying in €1,000 on five separate occasions. Start with €20 instead and the opening match adds €20 that you must play through 40 times: €800 of stakes, which costs about €32 on a 96% slot, more than the bonus itself. Each batch of spins can return €100 at most and expires a day after it lands. The casino opened in 2025 on a Curaçao licence, does not name its operator and does not publish a maximum bet, so put that question to support before paying in. The offer, stage by stage

As much as £5,000 in matches and 500 spins, unlocked across five deposits Deposit needed Five stages up to £5,000 and 500 spins from a 2026 Costa Rica operator, with a 5x cap on what each stage can pay. PrimeTier Limited, a Costa Rica company, opened this casino in 2026, so there is little history to judge it by. Its welcome package is built like the other five-stage deal on this board: 40x play-through, and £800 of stakes to clear the first £20 bonus at the minimum top-up. Whatever a stage wins is limited to five times its bonus. There is no Gambling Commission licence and no GamStop link, and the lootboxes and tournament follow separate rules from the welcome offer. Generous at the first step and sparing with its paperwork. A £20 top-up at 200% becomes a £40 bonus, and 40x turns that into £1,600 of stakes, roughly £64 of expected cost, which makes this headline the costliest on the board to clear. A top 20 should help you choose, not just admire. So every game below comes with the three numbers a planner needs: what a session costs at its default, what it costs on the cheapest version its provider lists, and how much the provider tells you about temperament and ceiling. The wider picture, from how RTP works to the rules behind every British spin, is in the online slots hub.
The ranking runs in two passes. First come tiers by disclosure: the twenty are nine games that publish a default RTP, a volatility rating and a top prize, six that publish the volatility but no top prize, and five that publish a top prize but no volatility. Inside each tier, the higher default RTP ranks first. To keep the list varied, no series takes more than three places, which is why only three Big Bass games appear.
Where to play is the offshore side. Those casinos are licensed outside Great Britain, their terms do not list games, and seven of the twenty come in lower RTP versions that a casino may choose. So the routine never changes: pick an offer, find the game, read its RTP on screen.
Twenty slots in five lines
- The top five. Dead or Alive 2 first, then Big Bass Bonanza, Wanted Dead or a Wild, Epic Ze Zeus and, fifth, Max Win Machine. All five publish a default RTP, a volatility rating and a top prize, and price decides their order.
- Where to play. A casino licensed offshore, whose welcome package opens at £20 or €20 and asks for 35x to 40x wagering. Search the lobby for your game before paying in, because the terms name none.
- The deciding number. The RTP on the info screen. Seven of the twenty list cheaper rungs, and Book of Dead’s bottom one more than quadruples the cost of a 50p session, from £2.35 to £9.80.
- The cheapest session. Blood Suckers, tenth on disclosure but first on price at 98.00%: a 124-spin session at 50p costs £1.24 on average.
- The catch. Less disclosure means less planning. Eleven of the twenty publish either no volatility rating or no top prize, so on those you are guessing at one of the two.
Today’s task: choose one game from tier one and one from tier two, open both info screens, and compare their RTPs with the table below before you stake a penny.
Play this if: ten aims, matched to the twenty
Pick the row that sounds like your next session. Costs are for 124 spins at 50p, one session of the length the Gambling Commission measured as average, which is £62 staked; the working is £62 times the share the game keeps.
| If you want | Play (rank) | Our figure | Watch for |
|---|---|---|---|
| The longest sessions for the money | Blood Suckers (10) | £1.24 a session at 98.00%; rated low volatility | No published top prize |
| The cheapest game that publishes all three figures | Dead or Alive 2 (1) | £1.98 a session at 96.80%; up to 100,000x | A single listed RTP, so confirm it on screen |
| A fishing game with a forgiving ladder | Big Bass Bonanza (2) | £2.04 a session; £3.35 even on the bottom rung | 2,100x tops out at £1,050 on a 50p spin |
| A five-reel classic at mid volatility | Gonzo’s Quest (9) | £2.50 a session at 95.97%; 2,500x | The lowest default in tier one |
| Megaways with a five-figure ceiling | Bonanza (8) | £2.48 a session; 26,000x, or £13,000 at 50p | Rated high; one figure listed |
| A jackpot alongside the base game | Divine Fortune (12) | £2.11 a session at 96.59%; rated mid | Jackpot sizes are not published |
| Multipliers on a pays-anywhere grid | Gates of Olympus 1000 (18) | £2.17 a session at 96.50%; 15,000x; multipliers to 1,000x | No volatility rating published |
| The book format | Book of Dead (6) | £2.35 a session at the default | £9.80 on the bottom rung, about 84.2% |
| Heavy volatility with full disclosure | Wanted Dead or a Wild (3) | £2.24 a session; 4 out of 5; 12,500x | £7.18 on the 88.42% rung |
| A game listed for the UK market | Rainbow Riches, 2025 version (19) | £2.48 a session at 96%; listed for the UK and EU on 16 July 2025 | A 520x ceiling, and £8.06 a session on the 87% rung |
Recommendation: if you only have one evening to try something from this page, take row two. Dead or Alive 2 is the cheapest game here that tells you everything, and the info screen will confirm its RTP before your first spin.
How the twenty were ranked: three tiers, then price
Planning a slot session takes three facts beyond the default RTP: how bumpy the game is, how high it can pay, and whether cheaper versions exist. The first two decide the tier. The third is shown for every game but not used to rank, because a single listed figure proves nothing either way.
| Tier | What the provider publishes | Games | What you can plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| One | Default RTP, a volatility rating and a top prize | 9 | Price, session shape and ceiling |
| Two | Default RTP and a volatility rating, no top prize | 6 | Price and session shape |
| Three | Default RTP and a top prize, no volatility rating | 5 | Price and ceiling |
Inside each tier the higher default RTP comes first, and where two defaults match, the larger published top prize goes first. Then a variety rule: no series fills more than three of the twenty places. Big Bass takes its three with Big Bass Bonanza, its Megaways version and Big Bass Splash; Gates of Olympus takes two.
Why does tier two outrank tier three? A volatility rating tells you how long a balance is likely to last, which shapes every session you play, while a top prize describes an outcome most sessions never approach. For a ranked ten built on price alone, see the top 10 slots.

| 20 | Fishin’ Frenzy The Big Catch Gold Spins | Blueprint Gaming, page dated Jan 2026 | Three | 95% | £3.10 | 90%: £6.20 |
Two patterns stand out. At their defaults the twenty sit in a narrow band: eighteen of them cost between £1.98 and £2.50 a session, a spread of 52p. The ladders are where the money is: the seven games with cheaper rungs add between £1.31 and £7.45 to the same session at their bottom versions.
Tier one: nine games you can plan completely
Everything a planner needs is published for these nine, so the order is pure price.
- 1. Dead or Alive 2. NetEnt’s 2019 game is both the cheapest of the nine at 96.80% and the most extreme, rated high with a top prize of up to 100,000x the stake: £50,000 on a 50p spin. It runs on five reels, three rows and nine paylines.
- 2. Big Bass Bonanza. Pragmatic’s December 2020 fishing original costs £2.04 a session at its 96.71% default and still only £3.35 at its bottom rung, about 94.6%, the gentlest ladder among the seven games that publish one. Medium-high volatility and a 2,100x ceiling make it the middle-of-the-road choice in this tier.
- 3. Wanted Dead or a Wild. Hacksaw’s five-by-five game with 15 paylines scores 4 out of 5 and tops out at 12,500x. Its 96.38% default is the third best in tier one, but its ladder reaches 88.42%, where a 50p session costs £7.18 instead of £2.24.
- 4. Epic Ze Zeus. Released on 18 August 2026, Hacksaw’s 5 out of 5 game carries the year’s largest ceiling, 50,000x, on a 96.22% default with rungs at 94.16% and 92.35%. The bottom rung roughly doubles a 50p session, from £2.34 to £4.74.
- 5. Max Win Machine. Twelve days earlier, on 6 August 2026, Hacksaw put out this payline game at the same 96.22% and the same 5 out of 5 score, with a 10,000x top prize. Its rungs sit at 94.28% and 92.20%, where a session costs £4.84.
- 6. Book of Dead. Play’n GO’s January 2016 classic is rated high, pays up to 5,000x and has the deepest ladder in the twenty: four rungs below its 96.21% default, the last at about 84.2%. There a 50p session costs £9.80, the dearest figure on this page.
- 7. Extra Chilli. Big Time Gaming’s 2018 game spreads up to 117,649 ways across six reels and an extra horizontal reel, is rated very high and pays up to 16,877x. At 96.19% a session costs £2.36, a penny more than Book of Dead.
- 8. Bonanza. The same Big Time Gaming layout at a flat 96.0%, rated high, with a bigger ceiling of 26,000x: £13,000 on a 50p spin. Our sources give no release year for it.
- 9. Gonzo’s Quest. NetEnt’s 2011 game, five reels by three rows with 20 paylines, is the only mid-volatility game in tier one and the oldest of all twenty. Its 95.97% default makes it the dearest of the nine at £2.50 a session, and its 2,500x ceiling is £1,250 at 50p.
Choose within the tier by temperament first: Gonzo’s Quest and Big Bass Bonanza for steadier sessions, the Hacksaw trio and Dead or Alive 2 for nights when a short session is acceptable.
Tier two: six that state their temperament, not their ceiling
These six tell you how a session is likely to feel, but not how high it can go. For small budgets that is the more useful half.
- 10. Blood Suckers. NetEnt’s low-volatility game from 2013 has the highest default anywhere in the twenty, 98.00%, so a 50p session costs £1.24 on average, the cheapest on the page. Only the missing top prize keeps it out of tier one.
- 11. Big Bass Bonanza Megaways. Pragmatic’s release of 18 November 2021 takes the series to Megaways at 96.70%. Pragmatic calls it high volatility; its money symbols climb as far as 4,000x, though no overall top prize is given.
- 12. Divine Fortune. NetEnt’s mid-volatility jackpot game: five reels, three rows, 20 paylines, 96.59%, and in place of a fixed top prize three progressive jackpots, Mega, Major and Minor.
- 13. Gates of Olympus. The six-by-five pays-anywhere grid that Pragmatic describes as highly volatile, with tumbles, multipliers of 2x to 500x and 15 free spins for four or more scatters, at 96.50%. Its launch was reported on 25 February 2021.
- 14. Starburst. NetEnt’s 2012 game on five reels, three rows and 10 paylines, rated low/mid, at 96.09%: £2.42 a session.
- 15. Twin Spin. Another NetEnt game, from 2013, rated mid, at 96.06%: £2.44 a session.
Tier two is where the calm games live. Four of its six are rated low, low/mid or mid, against one of the nine in tier one, so if your budget is small, start here.
Tier three: five that state a ceiling but not a temperament
Here you know how high the game can pay but not how bumpy the ride is. Plan on a smaller stake until you have seen how often it pays.
- 16. Big Bass Splash. Pragmatic, 23 June 2022: a 5×3 grid with 10 lines, where as many as five random modifiers can land before the free spins begin, at 96.71% with a 5,000x top prize. Entain reported it as its strongest online slot in the UK during 2025, yet no volatility rating is published.
- 17. Sweet Bonanza 1000. Pragmatic, 3 June 2024: candy-bomb multipliers of up to 1,000x, ten times those of the original game, a 25,000x ceiling and 96.53%.
- 18. Gates of Olympus 1000. Pragmatic, 14 December 2023: the Olympus grid with multipliers of 2x to 1,000x, a 15,000x ceiling and 96.50%.
- 19. Rainbow Riches, the 2025 Light & Wonder version. Listed for the UK and EU on 16 July 2025: five by three, 20 lines, a Wishing Well picker, Road to Riches in standard, Super and Mega forms, and Pots of Gold. It defaults to 96%, lists rungs at 94%, 92%, 90% and 87%, and tops out at 520x, the smallest ceiling in the twenty. Barcrest’s original predates this version, and none of its figures is used here.
- 20. Fishin’ Frenzy The Big Catch Gold Spins. Blueprint’s own page, dated 29 January 2026, marks it as a release for the UK only: 10 lines, 95% by default with rungs at 93%, 92% and 90%, and a 2,500x top prize. Its default is the lowest in the twenty, 1.12 points under the original Fishin’ Frenzy’s 96.12%.
A “UK-only” or “UK and EU” listing says where a game is sold, not that it pays more: the two games here with that label sit at or near the bottom on default RTP, at 95%, the lowest of the twenty, and 96%.
Good games left out, and why
The series rule kept six more Big Bass games out, though each would qualify for tier three: Bigger Bass Bonanza (17 September 2021, 96.71%, 4,000x), Big Bass Splash 1000 (8 December 2025, 96.52%, 25,000x), Big Bass Bonanza 1000 (24 April 2025, 96.51%, 20,000x), and three games at 96.07% with 10,000x ceilings, Big Bass Keeping it Reel (24 October 2022), Big Bass Hold & Spinner (27 March 2023) and Big Bass Day at the Races (7 March 2024). The Big Bass slots guide sets out the series title by title.
Other games publish a default RTP and nothing else this list can rank on: Sugar Rush (30 June 2022, 96.50%, a seven-by-seven cluster grid with position multipliers doubling up to 128x), Starlight Princess (96.50%, multipliers up to 500x), Eye of Horus (96.31%, rungs down to 90.25%) and Fishin’ Frenzy itself (96.12%, rungs down to 90%). Pragmatic’s catalogue, including those two grids, is covered in Pragmatic Play slots.
This year’s releases are mostly missing for the same reason. Pragmatic’s six late-summer games each list one RTP, the lowest 96.46% and the highest 96.54%, and no overall top prize, and Play’n GO’s releases of July to September 2026 come with no figures at all. They are ranked on their own terms in new slots.
Will £20 last a 50p session? Match the tier to your balance
The session costs above assume you get to play all 124 spins. A small balance at a bigger stake may not get that far. So each of our five model slots was handed £20 at 50p, enough for 40 spins before any win, and asked to play one national-average session of 124 spins, 100,000 times per model.
| Model slot | Stands in for, from the twenty | Still playing at spin 80 | Still playing at spin 124 | Ahead of £20 at the end | Middle balance at the end |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Steady (low) | Blood Suckers, Starburst | 89.1% | 69.7% | 33.2% | £11.06 |
| Classic (medium) | Gonzo’s Quest, Twin Spin, Divine Fortune | 62.7% | 39.5% | 20.6% | £0.42 |
| Bass-style (medium-high) | Big Bass Bonanza | 63.8% | 40.5% | 19.8% | £0.43 |
| Book-style (high) | Book of Dead, Dead or Alive 2, Bonanza, Big Bass Bonanza Megaways, Gates of Olympus | 41.4% | 23.3% | 13.4% | £0.34 |
| Spiky (high, 10,000x top) | Extra Chilli, Wanted Dead or a Wild, Epic Ze Zeus, Max Win Machine | 48.6% | 29.1% | 15.6% | £0.37 |
Only the low-volatility model saw most balances through the whole session, 69.7% of them; on Book-style, fewer than a quarter made it to spin 124. Yet the mean closing balance sat between £17.78 and £18.42 on every model, so the price of the session barely moved. What moved was whether you got to play the session you had planned.
The plan that follows. At 50p, a balance of £62 is the only way to be sure of all 124 spins, since that is 124 stakes. With £20, either drop the stake, which at 20p buys 100 spins before any win, or choose from the calm end of tier two. The mobile slots guide asks the same question for phone-length sessions.
Seven of the twenty have cheaper rungs: what that does to a session
A casino can run any version a provider ships, and seven games on this page publish lower ones. First the arithmetic for one 50p session of 124 spins (£62 staked) at each end of the ladder:
| Game | Default and session cost | Bottom rung and session cost | Added by the bottom rung |
|---|---|---|---|
| Big Bass Bonanza | 96.71%: £2.04 | About 94.6%: £3.35 | £1.31 |
| Epic Ze Zeus | 96.22%: £2.34 | 92.35%: £4.74 | £2.40 |
| Max Win Machine | 96.22%: £2.34 | 92.20%: £4.84 | £2.50 |
| The Big Catch Gold Spins | 95%: £3.10 | 90%: £6.20 | £3.10 |
| Wanted Dead or a Wild | 96.38%: £2.24 | 88.42%: £7.18 | £4.94 |
| Rainbow Riches (2025 version) | 96%: £2.48 | 87%: £8.06 | £5.58 |
| Book of Dead | 96.21%: £2.35 | About 84.2%: £9.80 | £7.45 |
A long session on each rung, simulated
The arithmetic is an average. To see what a cheaper rung does to a real-length evening, we gave £30 to two model slots built to the published RTP and top prize of Book of Dead and Big Bass Bonanza (the real pay tables are not public) and ran each published rung at 10p a spin for up to 1,000 spins, 100,000 sessions per rung. A session stopped early only if it could not cover the next 10p.
| Model and rung | Still playing at spin 500 | Still playing at spin 1,000 | Ahead of £30 at the end | Mean balance at the end | Average cost if all 1,000 spins were played |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Book-style at 96.21% (default) | 93.7% | 43.8% | 22.8% | £26.73 | £3.79 |
| Book-style at 94.25% | 91.8% | 40.5% | 21.2% | £25.22 | £5.75 |
| Book-style at 91.25% | 88.3% | 36.1% | 19.2% | £23.19 | £8.75 |
| Book-style at 87.25% | 81.8% | 31.1% | 17.0% | £20.64 | £12.75 |
| Bass-style at 96.71% (default) | 99.8% | 73.8% | 28.2% | £26.88 | £3.29 |
| Bass-style at about 95.67% | 99.8% | 71.3% | 26.9% | £25.91 | £4.33 |
| Bass-style at about 94.6% | 99.7% | 68.5% | 25.7% | £24.92 | £5.40 |
On the Book-style model, the drop from 96.21% to 87.25% took 12.7 points off the share still playing at spin 1,000, from 43.8% to 31.1%, and £6.09 off the mean closing balance. On the Bass-style model the whole ladder cost 5.3 points and £1.96. The middle balance tells the same story from another side: 7p to 9p on every Book-style rung, since by spin 1,000 more than half of those balances were empty, against £13.72 at Bass-style’s default and £11.11 on its bottom rung.
The mean balance falls by less than the average cost column suggests, because an empty balance can no longer feed the house its share. That is no comfort: it means the lower rung ended more evenings early. Book of Dead’s bottom rung, about 84.2%, was not simulated, since the provider gives it only approximately.
Price any rung yourself. The calculator opens on one 124-spin session at 50p, entered as 496 spins an hour for 0.25 hours, on Book of Dead’s default; type in the RTP your casino shows.
Where to play the twenty: the welcome offers, the lobby and the wagering
For October 2026 the welcome offers all come from offshore casinos. Costa Rica, Curaçao and Anjouan issued their licences; the Gambling Commission issued none, and none of them belongs to Gamstop Online. Read the licence line in the terms first, then the payment methods and the full conditions. Such a package opens with £20 or €20, sets a play-through of 35x to 40x and spreads 150 to 500 free spins over a run of deposits. They differ in shape: a total of up to 300% over three deposits with no single deposit matched at 300%, elsewhere a 200% first-deposit match to lead with, in places matches spread over five deposits, and somewhere a free bet included. There is no no-deposit offer among them; some terms say spin winnings are paid as cash; documents are needed before the first withdrawal; a 2026 launch date turns up in places.
The terms never say which games a casino stocks, so the lobby search comes before the deposit. Look up your tier-one or tier-two pick, open its info screen, and check the RTP against the list above. If the lobby runs a bottom rung, the cheapest fix is the next game down the list.
Valuing a batch of free spins on these games
A welcome package’s free spins arrive in batches; look in the full terms for the games they run on. Value any batch as spins × spin value × RTP, then apply the wagering. Take 100 spins at 10p as an example. On our Classic model (96.0%), 20,000 simulated batches paid £9.69 on average and £6.99 in the middle. Paid as cash, that is what you keep. With 35x wagering on the winnings, played at 10p, only 6.2% of those batches finished the play-through; 93.8% ended on nothing, and the mean fell to £5.66. The formula agrees in direction: £9.60 × (1 − 35 × 4%) = −£3.84 if the play-through is completed in full.
On the Bass-style model (96.71%) the same batch averaged £9.74, 7.1% finished the 35x, and the mean after wagering was £6.62. A higher-RTP game softens wagering a little; it does not remove it. Where a ticket says spin winnings are paid as cash, that line is worth more than any extra spins. For packages aimed at slot players, see slots sign-up offers.
Licensed sites: the welcome style to expect
Prefer British protections? At licensed sites the welcome usually follows the group, not the logo, and five patterns cover most slot brands. None of this says a brand runs a particular offer or carries any of the twenty in October 2026.
- Deposit first. bet365 puts sport ahead of casino, and both it and Betway, which runs sport and casino under one brand, base casino welcomes on a deposit; Flutter’s Sky Bet, Paddy Power and Betfair tie theirs to a first deposit or a stake. Flutter’s casino-led Sky Vegas is the exception people link with no-deposit spins.
- A £10 deposit with extra play. Bally’s groups Virgin Games, Monopoly Casino, Jackpotjoy and Double Bubble Bingo on a single bingo and casual-games platform. A small first deposit there is typically topped up with extra play, and regular customers see a stream of small promotions.
- No wagering at all. MrQ (Lindar Media) and PlayOJO (SkillOnNet) put no play-through on any bonus, so whatever it wins is yours as cash; the trade is usually a smaller number of spins.
- A wheel, not a figure. At Jumpman Gaming’s Amazon Slots, Prime Casino and Dream Jackpot, the first deposit earns one spin of a prize wheel, which means the advertised prize is the wheel’s best segment rather than what most players receive.
- One welcome for a family of brands. Entain’s Coral, Ladbrokes, Gala Bingo, PartyCasino and Gala Casino sit on shared accounts, so plan on a single welcome across them. The LeoVegas group, mobile-first and owned by MGM Resorts, also takes in Bet UK and BetMGM, whose British site opened in 2023 using LeoVegas’s licence and platform.
Longevity and record matter too. 888 Casino has been online since 1997, and for a decade it put no-deposit spins at the front of its advertising; its group, evoke, took in William Hill in 2022. The record by year: 2020 brought Betway’s £11.6m; 2022 brought £17m from Entain and £9.4m from 888; 2023 brought £19.2m from William Hill, £7.1m from Kindred, owner of 32Red and Unibet, and £3.25m from Betfred; 2024 brought bet365’s £582,120. Those are each group’s largest Commission fine or settlement. Duelz, Pub Casino and Mr.Play, like the others, can be checked by matching the licence holder and account number in their footers against the Commission’s public register.
Offshore play: the twenty without British rules
Offshore, each of the twenty keeps its own design, ladder and ceiling, but loses the British rules that shape a session. There is no 2.5-second minimum and no ban on autoplay or turbo, so an hour can hold more spins; no £5 or £2 stake cap, which matters most on tier one’s high ceilings; no restriction on bonus buys; and no Gamstop, no 10x wagering cap and no British complaints route. The casinos behind these welcomes are in that position, which is why their wagering runs to 35x to 40x.
The wider offshore market adds its own warnings. Kinghills and NineWin come from Curaçao companies that run families of sister sites; both are new, neither has a record you can check, and both are sold to British players on pages about avoiding Gamstop. Roobet and Gamdom, also licensed in Curaçao, are crypto casinos whose roots are in trading in-game skins, and money sent to them in coins carries none of a bank’s protection. Donbet and Velobet belong to the five-brand Curaçao stable of Santeda International B.V., whose sites take crypto and sit outside the UK register. Not one of these names is licensed for Great Britain, so playing there means giving up the safeguards a licence brings.
Using Gamstop? Then these offers are not for you: no offshore casino is part of the scheme. If you have self-excluded or blocked gambling payments, keep the block in place; the National Gambling Helpline takes free calls at any hour on 0808 8020 133.
Two minutes in the info screen: what to read on each tier
- Every game: the RTP. Compare it with the default in the list. On the seven laddered games, a lower figure is a cheaper rung, and the rung table above prices it.
- Tier one: nothing else to guess. Check the ceiling in the pay table matches the published one, then pick a stake that suits your balance.
- Tier two: the missing ceiling. Look at the pay table for the largest single prize shown, and remember that Divine Fortune’s top prizes are progressive jackpots.
- Tier three: the missing temperament. Start at the lowest stake for the first 50 spins and count how many pay anything. Few hits means a bumpy game; size the rest of the session accordingly.
- Before you leave the screen. Note the RTP in your phone so you can compare the next casino in seconds.
How the twenty were picked and priced
Source facts. Default RTPs, lower versions, volatility ratings, top prizes, layouts and dates are those the providers publish on their game pages and in press releases, as logged in our October 2026 fact sheet; Book of Dead and Big Bass Bonanza use the figures applied across this site. Nothing was estimated where a provider is silent.
Selection and order. Tiers by what is published (default RTP plus volatility and top prize; plus volatility only; plus top prize only), then default RTP, highest first, with ties going to the larger top prize. No series takes more than three places. Lower versions are shown but do not affect the rank.
Arithmetic. A session is 124 spins at 50p, £62 staked; 124 is the average session length the Gambling Commission reported for the first quarter of 2026. Its average cost is £62 × (100% − RTP). The bonus formula is B × (1 − W × (1 − RTP)) for B of winnings or bonus and W the wagering multiple.
Simulations. Two of our model slots, Book-style (built to 96.21% and 5,000x) and Bass-style (96.71% and 2,100x), run at each published rung, 100,000 sessions per rung, £30 at 10p for up to 1,000 spins, each cut short only by a balance below 10p. One-session runs: 100,000 per model on all five models, £20 at 50p for 124 spins. Free-spin batches: 20,000 per model, 100 spins at 10p, 35x on the winnings played at 10p, on Classic (96.0%) and Bass-style. Model results illustrate a kind of game, never a real game’s figures.
Top 20 questions
Which casinos does this page point me to for the twenty?
Casinos that publish a deposit welcome package. Each holds an offshore licence, from Costa Rica, Curaçao or Anjouan, which puts them outside the Gambling Commission’s oversight and outside Gamstop. A first deposit of £20 or €20 opens the package, the wagering runs from 35x to 40x, and between 150 and 500 free spins follow in stages. The terms name no games, so look the title up in the lobby and read its RTP before paying in.
What are the twenty, in order?
Dead or Alive 2, Big Bass Bonanza, Wanted Dead or a Wild, Epic Ze Zeus, Max Win Machine, Book of Dead, Extra Chilli, Bonanza and Gonzo’s Quest (tier one); Blood Suckers, Big Bass Bonanza Megaways, Divine Fortune, Gates of Olympus, Starburst and Twin Spin (tier two); Big Bass Splash, Sweet Bonanza 1000, Gates of Olympus 1000, the 2025 Rainbow Riches and The Big Catch Gold Spins (tier three).
Why is Blood Suckers only tenth when it pays back the most?
Because the list ranks on what a provider tells you before it ranks on price, and NetEnt publishes no top prize for Blood Suckers. Its 98.00% default is the best in the twenty: a 124-spin session at 50p costs £1.24 on average, against £1.98 on Dead or Alive 2 in first place.
Which of the twenty come in cheaper versions?
Seven: Big Bass Bonanza (down to about 94.6%), Epic Ze Zeus (92.35%), Max Win Machine (92.20%), The Big Catch Gold Spins (90%), Wanted Dead or a Wild (88.42%), Rainbow Riches (87%) and Book of Dead (about 84.2%). At the bottom rungs a 50p session costs between £1.31 and £7.45 more than at the defaults.
What does a typical session on these slots cost?
For 124 spins at 50p, £62 staked, the average cost at the defaults runs from £1.24 on Blood Suckers to £3.10 on The Big Catch Gold Spins, and eighteen of the twenty fall between £1.98 and £2.50. The stake moves that figure in proportion, so the same session at 10p costs a fifth as much.
What does a cheaper version do to a long session?
It ends more of them early. Giving £30 to our Book-style model at 10p, 43.8% of sessions were still playing at spin 1,000 at 96.21% and 31.1% at 87.25%, and the mean closing balance fell by £6.09. On the Bass-style model the whole ladder cost 5.3 points and £1.96.
Why are there only three Big Bass games?
A variety rule caps any series at three of the twenty places. Big Bass Bonanza, its Megaways version and Big Bass Splash take them; Bigger Bass Bonanza, Big Bass Splash 1000, Big Bass Bonanza 1000 and three sequels at 96.07% would otherwise qualify for tier three.
Which of the twenty is the newest?
Epic Ze Zeus, released by Hacksaw Gaming on 18 August 2026, followed by Max Win Machine on 6 August 2026. Blueprint’s page for The Big Catch Gold Spins is dated 29 January 2026, and the oldest game in the list is Gonzo’s Quest, from 2011.
Is The Big Catch Gold Spins only for UK players?
Blueprint Gaming lists it as a UK-only release, on a page dated 29 January 2026. That label does not mean better value: its 95% default is the lowest in the twenty, 1.12 points short of the 96.12% the original Fishin’ Frenzy returns, and its rungs go down to 90%.
Can I use a welcome package’s free spins on these games?
A package’s terms do not say which games the spins run on, so check the full conditions for that. Value a batch as spins × spin value × RTP and then apply any wagering: on our Classic model, 100 spins at 10p averaged £9.69 as cash, but with 35x on the winnings 93.8% of batches ended on nothing.
