How We Rate Offers: Value After Terms, Model Slots and Checked Facts
Every rating on this site comes back to one question: once the terms have taken their share, what is left for you? Here is how that question gets answered, how one package is ranked against another and which writing rules each page keeps, so you can check any figure yourself in about five minutes.
Value after terms, in one line
A headline tells you what an offer hands over. Value after terms tells you what it leaves behind. For a bonus with wagering, the starting point is a long-run sum:
Left after wagering = B × (1 − W × (1 − RTP))
B is the bonus, W the wagering multiple and RTP the slot’s long-run return, taken as 96% unless a page names a game. Run one £50 bonus through four multiples and the pattern is plain:
| Wagering | Total you must stake | Expected cost at a 4% edge | Left after wagering |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10x, the UK ceiling since 19 January 2026 | £500 | £20 | £30 |
| 25x | £1,250 | £50 | £0 |
| 35x | £1,750 | £70 | −£20 |
| 40x | £2,000 | £80 | −£30 |
Two lessons sit in that table. The multiple matters far more than the headline, and at 35x to 40x, the usual offshore range, a match bonus has a negative formula value. The formula also assumes you finish. Real sessions often stop early because the balance runs dry, so the guides add simulations showing how many sessions reach the end and what a typical one is left holding.
Nine lines read in any package
Before a package’s figures go on a page, its published terms are read for the nine lines below. Give any offer you meet elsewhere the same two-minute pass.
| Line in the terms | What to find | What it does to the value |
|---|---|---|
| Wagering multiple | The number in front of the x | At 96%, each extra 1x adds 4% of the bonus to the expected cost |
| Wagering base | Bonus only, deposit plus bonus, or spin winnings as well | A wider base multiplies the amount you must put through |
| Spin winnings | Paid as cash, or as bonus money with wagering | 150 spins at 10p average £14.40 as cash; at 40x the formula turns that into −£8.64 |
| Caps | A maximum win or conversion, per bonus or per batch | Cuts off the rare big win that props up the average |
| Expiry | Days for the bonus; hours or days for the spins | A short window can close the offer before you finish |
| Maximum bet | The most you may stake while the bonus is live | Going over it can cost you the bonus winnings |
| Minimum deposit | The amount each stage asks for | Typically £20 or €20 at every stage offshore |
| Verification | When documents are requested | Offshore, normally before the first withdrawal |
| Licence | The authority printed in the terms | Decides which rules and complaint routes protect you |
150 × £0.10 × 96% = £14.40; £14.40 × (1 − 40 × 4%) = −£8.64
How offers are put in order
Packages are ordered by value after terms, whatever the headline says. Three principles carry most of the weight:
- Playthrough beats headline. A lower multiple on a narrower base, with spin winnings paid as cash, keeps more than a bigger match or a longer spin list can add.
- Gaps cost places. A maximum bet, expiry or cap that the casino leaves unpublished earns its package no credit, and the more that is missing, the lower it sits.
- Extras come last. A longer window or a free bet can separate packages with similar wagering, yet never outweighs a clearly lower playthrough.
Commission is not on that list. Keep one honest caveat in mind as well: at 35x to 40x even the strongest match in this bracket has a negative formula value, so the order shows which package costs least to clear, not which one pays you. The date at the top of each guide shows when its figures were last checked.
Where the guides’ figures come from
Simulated figures come from our own code running five model slots. None of them is a real game. Book-style and Bass-style are built to the published RTP and top win of Book of Dead and Big Bass Bonanza, whose real pay tables are not public, and either can run at the lower RTP versions those providers also supply.
| Model | Volatility | RTP | Spins with any win | Feature, roughly once per | Top win |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Steady | Low | 96.2% | 36.0% | 110 spins | 400x |
| Classic | Medium | 96.0% | 25.8% | 160 spins | 3,000x |
| Spiky | High | 95.9% | 16.8% | 230 spins | 10,000x |
| Book-style | High | 96.21% | 18.5% | 210 spins | 5,000x |
| Bass-style | Medium-high | 96.71% | 23.5% | 175 spins | 2,100x |
Each scenario runs between 20,000 and 250,000 sessions on a fixed random seed, so any result can be reproduced exactly. A wagering session keeps spinning at one stake until the requirement is met or the balance can no longer cover a spin, and an unfinished session scores zero. Spins are valued at the stake the offer would really use, usually 10p. Results are quoted two ways, as the average and as the typical session, because a few big wins can lift an average that most players never see.
Facts, and where they are checked
- Rules and dates: the Gambling Commission’s own announcements and guidance, from identity checks before any play (7 May 2019) to the 10x wagering ceiling (19 January 2026).
- Game figures: RTPs and maximum wins as the providers publish them.
- Payments: fees, limits and gambling blocks as the banks, wallets and networks describe them.
- Offer terms: each casino’s published terms as the cashier states them, with any term the casino does not publish marked that way.
- Other publications: anything else a guide relies on, such as a Competition and Markets Authority case record or an industry guide, is named on that page.
- Brands: a short, checked fact sheet, and nothing about any brand’s current promotions.
- Market patterns: written with “usually” or “often”, because they describe what is common rather than what every offer does.
Rules every page is written to
- No made-up first-hand claims: a page never describes sign-ups, play or testing that did not happen.
- Offshore casinos are always shown as not licensed in Great Britain, with the protections their players lose.
- Nothing that helps anyone get round Gamstop Online, GamBan, a bank gambling block or any other self-exclusion.
- No brand is called the best, no winnings are promised and no bonus is described as free money.
- Every page is for adults aged 18 and over and ends with where to find help.

Tell us. Email contact@freedaily-ukspins.uk with the page address, the figure or line in question and, if you can, what the casino’s terms say today. We check it against the published source, correct the page if you are right and reply either way. The contact page lists what else helps, and about us covers the site as a whole.
